When money is tight, ramen instant noodles seem to be an old standby. You get a quick meal for a low price. However, have you ever considered how unhealthy these noodles are for you?
Instant ramen noodles have long been a staple for young adults, college students, and other individuals on a tight budget. However, new studies show that eating these noodles regularly could increase your risk for metabolic changes that are linked to stroke and heart disease.
This study looked at women in the country of South Korea. Findings showed that women who consumed more of the instant noodles than others ended up having a greater likelihood of having metabolic syndrome, no matter how much they exercised or what else they ate.
Individuals who have metabolic syndrome may have high blood sugar or high blood pressure, and they also have a high risk of diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Researchers also have found that consuming too much sodium can result in many diseases, such as kidney damage, hypertension, stroke and heart disease.
