Water Will Help You With Weight Loss

Here Are the Most Current Fact-Based Reasons Why
The concept of weight loss is easy. You simply consume fewer calories than you burn. However, the reality of weight loss is quite another thing.

It is far harder to achieve goals than it is to set them or commit our life to daily changes to make weight loss a reality. Small but consistent changes need to occur for weight loss to occur.

Even if you lose 5 lbs in a week from a crash diet, those five pounds will return when you go back to your regular eating pattern. The key is to make changes in that pattern.

Water Sounds Almost Too Simple, but It Works
Water plays a huge role in taking weight off and keeping it from returning.

  1. Water flushes out toxins from the body via the kidneys and the urinary tract.
  2. If you do not have enough water for the kidneys to do this, then the liver has to become involved, taking on the additional burden of detoxifying the body, rather than helping to burn up stored fat.
  3. That slows down the metabolizing process and causes weight loss to cease and fat stores to stay packed firmly where they are.

Research Shows Water Helps
In the October 2009 edition of the International Journal of Obesity, one study showed that there was a correlation between the use of an ACE-Inhibitor, such as used for treating high blood pressure, and weight loss.

Rats given this medication lost weight while taking it, despite the fact they ate the same amount of calories as they had previously. The only difference was the amount of water they drank while taking the medication.

Their water intake doubled the amount consumed by rats not receiving the ACE-inhibitor. The extra water allowed the cells to be more hydrated and therefore improved the fat metabolism.

It also enhanced the ability to take up glucose, which can slow the metabolism, while also draining energy, making it harder to lose weight.

In 2003, M. Boschmann and J. Steiniger came to the same conclusion in a study on humans. Their study showed that increased water intake diluted the blood and helped promote the breakdown of fat in the body, which further supports increasing water intake when dieting.

A study by Dr. Michael Boschmann showed that by drinking at least 500 ml of water each day, both men and women could increase their metabolic rate by at least 30 percent over the next 90 minutes period. The water had to be room temperature, not body temperature for this to occur.

The reasoning for the extra calories burned was warming the water to body temperature. Also, excess water in the body promotes the release of norepinephrine and adrenalin because it dilutes the blood. Both of these actions require extra energy, and that means burns extra calories.

Cut Your Appetite with Water
① If you drink water before a meal, it acts as an appetite suppressant, which can also cause weight loss. Hunger mechanisms in the brain determine whether you feel like eating more or are satiated.

② This area of the brain, while amazing, still has a flaw. It is differentiating between hunger and thirst. Sometimes if you are thirsty, you are starving. By drinking water before a meal, you do not only satisfy your thirst but also tricks that area of the brain into thinking you are less hungry.

③ While this is not the only action to take when you want to lose weight, drinking more water throughout the day not only helps you lose weight. It also helps your skin to look more appealing and for you to be healthier.

④ Adding the action of drinking eight 8-oz glasses of water throughout the day to your arsenal to fight fat, such as eating fewer calories, exercising more and getting plenty of sleep, can help you lose weight easier and faster.
