Signs of aging will sooner or later appear on your body. They may affect your skin, your hair or your nails. You can choose among an array of efficient anti-aging products but knowing how to apply those will determine the results.
Getting the most of anti-aging cosmetics depends on your efforts. Want to learn how to apply those like a pro? Here’s your guide to turning back the hands of time.
Day Moisturizer
Cover the entire surface of your face with your moisturizing cream of preference, this serves as your sun protection, so don’t be skimpy. Spread a marble-sized blob over every inch of your face (avoiding the eye area). Take the same amount of moisturizer and apply it to your neck, throat and decollete. Many ladies forget to cover their neck, which is why it starts getting wrinkles before the facial skin does. Wait for about 2 minutes for the cream to get fully absorbed and put on your makeup.
Choose a moisturizing day cream that has SPF 30+ or higher.
2
Eye Cream
Use your ring finger to apply the eye cream. Put a bead of eye cream on the fingertip and apply it gently underneath the eye, starting an inch from your hairline and moving toward your nose, and once more over your eyelid, from the inner corner outward.
Blend the cream by tapping it in gentle motion instead of rubbing it back and forth. Don’t rub too hard – you may cause some damage to the delicate skin in the eye region.

Night Treatment (Serums & Anti-Aging Cream)
Putting on the nighttime anti-aging treatment is somewhat different from the use of your favorite day cream. Make sure that your skin has been thoroughly cleansed before getting started. Use the night cream or serum on slightly damp skin. The anti-aging ingredients found in the product such as enzymes, antioxidants, and retinoids will usually penetrate the skin better if there’s some moisture. If you’re in the sensitive side, dry your face completely, then wait at least 2 minutes before applying a treatment.
Keep in mind that serums are much potent and more spreadable than moisturizers. Therefore, you’ll need a very small amount of these products (think pea-sized, rather than a marble-sized dollop) to achieve the desired results.
Research shows that most women tend to apply them unevenly, missing keyspots around the mouth and eyes. Here’s how to apply your anti aging products the right way.
- Use one finger to apply a dot of product to each of the 15 facial points.
- Evenly and gently massage the product into your skin at each point and its surrounding area using circular motion.
- Spend 30 to 50 seconds on each area- the goal is to be as thorough as possible and to let the product seeped into your skin for best result.

Body Moisturizer
Your body needs to be moisturized as much as your face does. Always massage the lotion on damp skin right after a shower to seal in the moisture. Use a marble-size amount of cream for each leg and arm and the front and back of your torso (that’s 6 marbles, total).
5
Shampoo
You don’t need to shampoo your hair every day. Instead, experiment to see when your hair is going to get oily. ( But it all depends on your hair type, it could be a week or two before you need to use shampoo particularly for textured-hair), then start shampooing the day before you reach the too-oily mark.
Then, make sure that your hair is thoroughly soaked with water before you start massaging with a quarter-size blob of shampoo (yup! that’s all you need) in your scalp. Don’t use an excessively big amount of shampoo – even ladies that have long hair can use a small amount and still get perfect results.
6
Conditioner
Once you’re done with shampooing process, pour a quarter-size blob of conditioner between your fingers. Use your fingers to gently rake the conditioner through your locks from mid-strand to the ends.
Once your hair is fully saturated, (if you have very long hair, you may need another quarter-size blob of the product), try to smoothen out any extra product from your hairline back over the top of your head. Leave the conditioner on for about 2 minutes and rinse it off with cool water.
