The Health Benefits of Drinking Lemon and Cayenne Pepper Water

If you are a naturally cleanse enthusiast like me, you have probably tried all kinds of healthy ingredient combinations. I have discovered a morning ritual that delivers amazing benefits. It consists of drinking warm lemon water with cayenne pepper.

LEMON-and-cayenne

Starting the morning right helps stimulate my natural detox mechanism. I want to share this beneficial practice with you. Keep in mind this is not a food-based cleanse but a recipe that will affect the organs that are responsible for removing toxins from the body.

The Benefits of Lemon and Cayenne Water
It all sounds great but I think I should explain the benefits of this morning ritual in detail to convince you.

This liquid has potent detox stimulating qualities. It affects the liver – the body’s most important organ when it comes to natural detoxification. Since the water is consumed on empty stomach, it stimulates the functioning of the digestive tract, as well.

Having a clean, the properly functioning digestive system is essential for eliminating harmful toxins from the body. The same applies to a healthy liver. I manage to achieve both of these goals by making a simple and cheap drink in the morning.

The Power of Natural Ingredients
What is each of the ingredients responsible for?

Lemon Juice
For a start, Lemon Juice is a magnificent source of vitamin C. When it comes to detox, vitamin C is what you should be consuming in large quantities.

Lemons contain a range of additional antioxidants that slow down cell aging and prevent your body from oxidative stress.

By oxygenating the body, the lemon juice will stimulate the natural function of the liver.

Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne pepper is another potent substance when it comes to stimulating natural detox. It regulates the digestive tract and improves blood circulation.

By increasing your core temperature, cayenne pepper will speed up your metabolism and help you get rid of toxins more efficiently.

It is interesting to know that lemons are considered an acidic food and everybody is aware of the heat that cayenne pepper brings.

These two ingredients, however, can be used to make the body’s pH alkaline. Most of the foods consumed on a daily basis are acidic, which disrupts the natural pH balance.

How Do I Do It?
① The procedure is very simple. I get out of bed and I warm some water on the stove. There is no need for the water to be boiling or very hot. Slightly higher than body temperature is perfect.

② I pour the water into a glass and I squeeze the juice of half a lemon in. Add few sprinkles of cayenne pepper on top and you complete the procedure.

③ If you want to top the notch: Add a few slices of ginger too for more detox and weight loss benefits.

④ You can add some honey for a touch of sweetness. I normally make a big water bottle of this in the morning and drink throughout the day.

⑤ It’s perfect for banishing afternoon sugar cravings – definitely my biggest weakness!

Final Thoughts:
Finally, I find the drink to be really energizing and much better than coffee in the morning. Few people realize that the body is dehydrated in the morning and the consumption of such a beneficial liquid can boost energy levels significantly.

Coffee is a potent diuretic, which takes away liquids rather than supplying what the body needs in the beginning of a new day.
