Potato Tomato Skin Lightening Face Pack

Get your glow on with this easy-to-make face mask. It helps lighten and brighten skin, while also nourishing it in the process. This mask is not only easy to make, it only has three ingredients and most people may already have them at home.

It uses a potato, a tomato and honey to create a luxurious mask you’ll want to use frequently. The ingredients have been used for hundreds of years for skin care.

In fact, Cleopatra was known to use honey as one of her beauty secrets that gave her the phenomenal skin that was praised for centuries.


Benefits of Ingredients:
① Potato
The potato was a source of food for Incas from Peru long before Europeans ate them. In fact, Incas started raising potatoes between 8000 and 5000 BC. This ancient source of food brings special properties when used in the face mask.

It is a rich source of vitamin C and a slice of potato has been used for centuries to help eliminate dark circles under the eye. It’s bleaching properties help fade dark spots on the skin, as well.

It contains vitamin B6, potassium, calcium, and magnesium which are good for the skin. The phytonutrients in potatoes not only help exfoliate the skin, they also help treat wrinkles and provide anti-aging benefits.


② Tomato
Tomatoes have an acidic effect, which also helps exfoliate the skin to remove the dead layer and give it a bright glow. The combination of potato and tomato is good to help treat acne and remove the scars of previous outbreaks.

Just like the potato, tomatoes have a natural bleaching property that eliminates dark spots and brightens the skin. By exfoliating, it helps give the appearance of smaller pores, making your skin look younger.

Tomatoes contain vitamin C, biotin, vitamin A and a host of other nutrients. It also contains lycopene, which has antioxidant properties to help build skin tissue and protect skin cells.


③ Honey
The honey in the mask acts as a humectant. That means it attracts moisture to the skin. Honey has been used for thousands of years to help keep skin soft and supple.

It has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties as well, to aid in the elimination of skin bacteria that can cause outbreaks of acne. It also has a mild acid in it that helps remove skin cells to make your skin brighter and clearer.


④ Yogurt
Yogurt reduce naturally wrinkles and fine lines from forming with an anti-aging yogurt face mask. The lactic acid in yogurt will help dissolve dead skin and tighten pores.

Not only will this combination give you lighter and brighter skin, it will give it a boost of healthy nutrients and fight acne in the process.


You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 sliced cut potato
  • 1/2 sliced cut tomato
  • 2 tbsp unflavored, unsweetened plain yogurt (optional)
  • 1 tbsp raw honey


Directions:
① Throw the potato and tomato in a blender and then add the raw honey and yogurt.

② Blend together to form a smooth paste.

③ Transfer to a bowl and add 1 or 2 tbsp of plain yogurt. Mix them well and apply the face mask on your freshly cleaned face and neck.

④ Let the mask sits for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.

⑤ Do this routine 2 or 3x a week in regular basis to see best results.

      2-3 times a week is recommended.
