Dry Skin Brushing – How To Choose Your Brush
Don’t just choose any brush if you’re going to dry brush your skin. You’ll want a brush that has bristles made of natural fibers. Look for one that has a long handle, making it easy for you to dry brush your back as well.
When you first begin using the brush, they bristles on the brush may feel too firm, but over time you’ll get used to the bristles.
However, those with very sensitive skin may need to get started with a much softer brush, working up to one that is a bit firmer.

1. Choose the right brush. Using brush made of natural fibers is less harsh on the skin than synthetic ones, and won’t harm people that have delicate skin.
2. Do it with a waterless body. You should dry brush your skin before you enter the shower or bath.
For this procedure to work efficiently, the skin needs to be dry. This is how dead skin cells and toxins are effectively taken off of the body.
3. Dry brush from head to toe or vice-versa. Dry brushing your skin is all about brushing without using any lotions, soaps or water. As you begin brushing your skin, work on limbs with upward strokes of the brush that move towards your heart.
Brush in a long sweeping motion and only brush one way to avoid irritating skin. Begin at the soles of the feet, and then work towards the top of your body.
If you’re just starting, be very gentle with the brush at first. You should also avoid dry brushing sensitive areas, like the nipple area, the pubic area or any areas that are infected or irritated.

5. Do it three times a week.
