Stop trying all those skincare products. If you want a fabulous skin, you don’t need skincare products. The real secret is something you take orally – cod liver oil.
Maybe you were thinking I’d be talking about probiotics or fish oil, but Fermented Cod Liver Oil is the secret.
Cod liver oil offers fantastic results for skin, giving you gorgeous skin while eliminating acne. It also provides significant benefits for your overall health as well.
Before I discovered the CLO, I’ve tried so many naturopathic remedies for my skin before using cod liver oil. Just a few things I tried included liver cleanses, fish oil and probiotics.
While this stuff did offer some improvement, those hormonal breakouts still liked to show up on the jawline and chin every month. It didn’t seem like anything eliminated those hormonal breakouts.
While small breakouts aren’t horrible, you probably start wondering why they keep happening. Is there a health issue causing the problem?
More than likely, you don’t have a health issue causing those monthly breakouts. Instead, your body probably lacks some essential nutrients that you aren’t getting in your diet.
One of those essential nutrients you may be missing is vitamin A, which is used as a skincare product known as Accutane.
Cod Liver Oil – Why Does it Work?
The vitamin A that is found in cod liver oil happens to be natural. It’s not a synthetic source of the vitamin-like Accutane.
This means that it is less likely to cause toxicity because it works well with the other nutrients in the body.
In the past, some have tried to claim that cod liver oil was a bad idea because the vitamin A in it was toxic.
However, that doesn’t make sense, since the traditional diets of our ancestors were rich in the vitamin from eating grass-fed animal fats, organ meats, seafood, and liver. Search by the Weston A. Price Foundation found that primitive peoples ate diets that contained nearly 10x the vitamin A that we eat in our modern diets today.
Since we eat fewer foods that contain vitamin A, it makes sense that acne would be such a huge problem today. After learning this information, I thought cod liver oil was worth trying out, so I started to take the oil daily.
Wow! I started noticing a huge difference, not only in the reduction in breakouts but the general appearance of my skin as well. My skin glows, it has better texture and people constantly ask me what I’m doing to get such amazing skin.
About Cod Liver Oil And How It Can Cure Acne
In our grandparents’ time, cod liver oil was actually quite popular. However, many people today are unaware of its existence.
Dr. Price’s research showed why it is so important that we get these vital nutrients. His research revealed that primitive diets had over 10x the amount of vitamin A and vitamin D when compared to the typical American’s diet today.
So, this means that many people are deficient in these essential vitamins. Cod liver oil includes these necessary vitamins and also includes important DHA and EPA fatty acids.
While cod liver oil does an excellent job on your skin, this oil also improves your overall health as well. A study by Dr. Price was done on children in the country of New Zealand. Among those who had cod liver oil each day, significantly fewer cavities were found.
But You MUST Get The Right Kind Of Cod Liver Oil For It To Work!
If you want to see the results that I’ve enjoyed, you need to choose the best cod liver oil. It’s important that you purchase fermented cod liver oil that has been taken from fish caught in the wild.
Other types of cod liver oil may include synthetic vitamins, it can be processed heavily, or it may come from farmed fish.
Since the liquid cod liver oil offers a higher rate of absorption, that’s the kind I chose. Of course, the oil is known for having a bad taste, but I figured I’d mix it with something like applesauce and deal with the taste.
Tips To Help Improve The Taste Of Cod Liver Oil
You can improve the taste of the cod liver oil a bit if you have problems with the taste. For example, you can mix the liquid oil with some honey, a bit of applesauce or some yogurt.
Or I spread the oil on a sourdough bread and add some honey to it, and after that, I chase it with some raspberry sorbet… YUM… no taste of CLO at all.
As I started taking the oil, I initially held my breath, so I didn’t taste it as much. However, over time, I did get used to the taste, and it doesn’t seem that bad anymore. In fact, I can take it without flinching now.
How To Cure Acne With Cod Liver Oil
So, how much do you need to take if you want to cure your acne using cod liver oil? According to the Weston A. Price Foundation, adults and kids over 12 should take ½ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of the oil each day.
Nursing or pregnant women should talk to their doctor before taking this oil. (see the recommendations here for younger children, and pregnant or nursing women)
For a starter, consume with a smaller dose. It’s pretty powerful, so you may want to keep the dose small. You’ll also want to start with a small dose just in case you find out that you are allergic to the oil.
When Will I Notice Results? – My Experience
I didn’t start taking cod liver oil to treat my acne – I just wanted to improve my nutrient intake while giving my immune system a boost.
However, I was surprised when I found that my skin looked better the second day that I took the oil. It sounds incredible, but my skin looked amazing on the second day.
By the time the third day rolled around, no new breakouts were in sight. Since it cured my acne, it may help eliminate your acne too.
Since the fermented cod liver oil offers your important body nutrients, you may see similar results. So if you start taking the oil, you may notice significant results after a few days of taking the oil.
Even though people have acne for different reasons, it’s a very good idea to give the cod liver oil a try. After all, even if it doesn’t completely clear up your acne, it still will offer you some great health benefits.
If you start taking fermented cod liver oil, try it for at least a month. Even if you don’t see results in two days like I did, continue taking it for a month.
This way you give it enough time to see how it works for you. More than likely, you’ll love the benefits of taking the oil, and you’ll want to keep taking it so you can continue enjoying all the advantages it has to offer you.
