Sometimes you are left with a few acne scars, if you dealt with acne during your teens, or even as an adult. It’s tough to eliminate those scars, but instead of trying an expensive scar removal product, try a natural, DIY treatment.
Make your own lemon peel mask, which contains rosewater, and you’ll reduce the appearance of those acne scars. Other benefits of the mask include reducing the appearance of freckles, eliminating excess oil, reducing redness and evening your skin tone.
How Does it Work?
This lemon peel and rosewater mask only contain these two ingredients, but both ingredients have some compelling benefits for your skin.
The lemon peel powder used for the mask contains acids that help to slough away dead skin, which promotes the growth of new, healthy skin cells.
The acids also contribute to reducing oil production, which should help prevent further breakouts.
Rosewater also offers some benefits. As a mild astringent, it helps to tone skin, improving skin’s pH and reducing pore size.
The rosewater also works on the capillaries found just beneath the surface of your skin, which helps to reduce redness.
① Mix about 1/2 tsp of lemon peel powder with 2-3 tbsp of rosewater.
② Mix with your hands until you get a thin paste. Don’t have rose water? Read my post here to create your own rosewater.
③ After making the mask, you’ll want to apply it to areas of skin that you want to lighten. Concentrate on areas with scars, freckles or dark spots. You can use it on areas where you have problems with acne breakouts as well.
④ After you apply the mask to skin, allow it to sit on skin for about 15-20 minutes. Gently wash away the mask with water and a soft cloth.
Pat skin dry and then apply a good moisturizer. Don’t use the mask more than 2-3 times each week. You’re sure to love the results, and the mask will leave your skin smelling lovely too.
⑤ Since you have rosewater on hand, you can also use it after you apply makeup to set the look.
Take a small spray bottle, add rosewater and spritz on skin to set makeup.
