How to Reduce Hair Fall, Grow and Get Shiny Hair Naturally

It took me a while to make the distinction between healthy and beautiful hair and guess I have to blame my friends for overwhelming me with compliments. I’ve always emphasized the importance of a beautiful hair but for past years, I dwelled mostly on commercial products aimed at enhancing their looks and committed to short-term gains.

I know that women rarely go bald, but I don’t intend to be one of the exceptions that confirm the rule, so when my hair started to fall out like crazy, I decided it was time to act.

What suggestion I got was to try fenugreek seeds and grind them into a powder, then use it in conjunction with coconut oil to create a powerful mixture. The friend who recommended this concoction told me that I won’t have to trade looks for durability, so I’m extending this advice to you.

At least, in theory, you can safely use the homemade recipe in conjunction with commercial products, but let’s just say that the results are so impressive that you won’t feel the need of buying anything from a supermarket shelf.

The mixture has a two-pronged effect because, after a couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that dandruff was virtually cured and after a shower, much less hair was left behind, and my hair feels soft and silky.

Being obsessed about and investing so much in products aimed at enhancing looks, the only downside is that my friends didn’t immediately notice that I was using something else. Thinking twice about it, I realized that this is in fact great news because it means that you can achieve the same results with natural and less expensive products.

Why Fenugreek Seeds?

① Fenugreek works wonder on dry hair, because of its high mucilage and protein content. It softens your tresses and adds shine to dull hair. Fenugreek or Methi seeds are extremely efficient against hair fall, dandruff and help to reverse baldness and hair thinning.

② They are abundant in protein and nicotinic which are a great source of hair growth. Also, they contain significant amounts of lecithin which makes our hair healthy and strong while aiding the graying of hair and make it silky soft.

③ It helps to reduce the dryness of the hair, cures dandruff, conditions the hair, keeps the scalp cool and treats a variety of scalp issues. It is highly effective against hair fall and provides strength from the roots.

You’ll need:

  • 2 tbsp Fenugreek Seed — {you’ll find this at your health store or Amazon.com}
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 cups of water

Directions:
① Boil 2 cups of water and add 2 tbsp of fenugreek seeds. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes and turn the stove off. Set aside the pot and leave it overnight. Or you can let the mixture sit for about 2 -3 hours but leaving it overnight is best.

② The following day, put the mixture in a blender and grind for a minute or until the particles turned into a creamy, nice paste consistency. You can add a little water and blend to make a thick paste.

③ Next, grab 1 tbsp of coconut oil and put it in a microwave-safe container. Since coconut oil solidifies in room temperature, you can go ahead and warm it up in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Once the oil is melted, add it to the fenugreek seed mixture and turn your blender on for couple of seconds until everything is perfectly combined.

④ You can now transfer the mixture to another bowl, and you’ll see that it’s consistency turned into a real smooth, creamy paste.

⑤ Now, spritz some water in your hair to make it damp a bit and rub a slight amount of coconut oil. With a damp hair, start by parting them in section and massage the paste into your hair or you can use a dye brush and apply a generous amount of mixture from roots to tips. If you have long hair, make sure to put a towel on your shoulder since it could be a little messy but is worth the effort.

Extra Tip:
Do not let the paste dry completely as it will be difficult to wash off then. Wash/Rinse when it is moist. Covering the hair with a plastic bag or shower cap will keep it moist for a long time.

Let it remain for 30-45 minutes and shampoo as usual. You don’t need to condition your hair after washing it as this mask acts as a natural conditioner.

Hi, I tried this hair mask and it was very hard to wash out of my hair. I blended it in the blender for a long time to make sure it was nice and smooth but it still left some particles in my hair and I ended up having to wash it four times to get everything out. Any tips?

      hi Zaini,
You don’t need to apply oil on your hair as this mask itself will make your hair oily already. Just wash it with your regular shampoo or follow the directions I have posted.
However, you can alternate this hair mask with any hair oil that you wish to apply on your hair.
