How To Prepare your Skin for a Flawless Makeup with These Essential Tips

If you want the skin to look glowing and natural after applying your makeup, you need to prepare your skin correctly. If the skin is oily, tired, cracked, or dry, it won’t look its best.

prep-your-skin-1

Prepare the skin before applying makeup won’t just result in a better look, but you’ll need less makeup to deal with problem areas if the skin is well prepared.

With a few preparation tips, you can let your gorgeous skin shine through, putting your best face forward.

① Tip #1 – Wash Your Face with Baking Soda and Apple Cider Vinegar

Start by washing your face with a combination of baking soda and apple cider vinegar.

Baking Soda helps to regulate the pH of your skin and it helps eliminate dead skin cells, revealing younger, more beautiful skin.

Baking soda even brightens and softens skins. If you have acne, it can help eliminate pimples and blackheads.

Apple Cider Vinegar offers some great benefits as well. It helps to unblock pores, allowing the skin to breathe and reducing problems with acne.

It also helps to prevent dryness, which is important, since dry skin can look bad underneath makeup.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 or 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 or 2 tsp. raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vitamin C powder (optional)

Note: Use this mask 2x a week as its not recommended to exfoliate your skin daily. But you can alternate the baking soda/ACV routine with this facial wash powder (read instructions here). However, if you have sensitive skin, try using oats and milk to exfoliate your skin.

① Take 1 or 2 teaspoons of baking soda and put it in a mixing bowl.

② Next, add vinegar.

③ Mix them well together to get a paste-like consistency. Gently apply evenly on entire face, avoid the eye areas.

④ Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. After that, gently massage the mask off with lukewarm water. Pat skin dry with a towel.

After this Routine, Follow Below Steps Accordingly.

② Tip #2 – Use a Serum

Once you have cleansed your face, make sure you apply a good serum. Many people skip this step, but it’s important to use a serum before moisturizing since it helps infuse skin with important minerals and vitamins. Since the baking soda and apple cider vinegar cleanser exfoliates your skin, it’s a great time to apply the serum, since pores have had a deep clean.

It’s a good idea to look for a serum that includes sodium hyaluronate, which keeps in moisture, and vitamin C, which helps smooth skin. You should also look for natural ingredients that help hydrate and firm skin, reducing any signs of aging.

③ Tip #3 – Apply a Good Moisturizer to Hydrate your Skin

After applying a serum, now it is time to apply a good moisturizer to your skin. Choose a moisturizer that will keep skin moist all day, and make sure it is designed for your specific skin type.

The moisturizer gives you smoother skin, and it plumps skin, ensuring you have a nice surface when you’re ready to apply your makeup.

It’s a good idea to use a moisturizer that includes sunscreen to keep skin protected from the sun.

When using moisturizer, press the moisturizer into the skin instead of rubbing it, this helps stimulate skin cells, letting the ingredients gently seep into skin without taking away from the moisturizer’s properties.

④ Tip #4 – Don’t Forget a Primer

Don’t forget to use a makeup primer before you add makeup. Many models and stars use this secret. Use a primer that has silicone listed as the primary ingredient.

The silicone helps to fill in crevices, which ensures skin is completely smooth.

The Primer also works as a barrier between makeup and your skin’s oils, keeping them from mixing. Once you have a primer in place, you’re ready to apply makeup flawlessly.
