You can still pamper yourself, even if you don’t have money to head to the spa for a professional facial. Grab a few ingredients from the kitchen, and you’ll be able to make your own facial mask.

A homemade mask with natural ingredients is a cheaper option, yet it still provides fantastic results. To nourish your skin, whipping up a lemon and olive oil facial mask is an excellent idea.

OLIVE-mask-1

You’ll have it ready in minutes, and the ingredients are low-cost too. All you need is some lemon juice, olive oil, egg white and cooked oatmeal.

Unsurprisingly, olive oil is best suited for dry skin, but this lemon-olive oil face mask is ideal for normal, combination, oily and acne-prone skin due to the combination of ingredients.

Benefits of the Ingredients:

① Benefits of Lemon Juice
Lemon juice offers many skin benefits since the juice is packed with vitamin C and other antioxidants. The acids in lemon juice help to slough away dead skin while removing blackheads and brightening skin.

Since the alpha hydroxyl acids eliminate dead skin cells, it contributes to promoting the growth of new skin.

②Benefits of Olive Oil
Olive oil, which is rich in vitamin E, offers excellent benefits for skin. It moisturizes skin when applied topically, since it contains healthy fats.

The vitamin A and vitamin E in the oil help to plump and moisturize skin as well while fighting off the free radicals that cause aging.

③ Benefits of Egg White
The nutrients found in egg whites make them an excellent topical skin treatment. The egg whites help to tighten skin, tightening pores and eliminating dead skin.

Egg whites also contribute to reducing excess oil on the face, helping to cleanse away oil and impurities. Masks that contain egg whites also contribute to eliminating whiteheads, and the protein found in the egg whites helps nourish and heal skin too.

④ Benefits of Oatmeal
Oatmeal provides many benefits when used topically, which is why it’s included in many skincare products. It helps to replenish the moisture in skin and naturally eliminates skin impurities without irritating skin.

For individuals with acne, the oatmeal helps to reduce inflammation and even removes oil and dead skin cells from pores.

The wonderful combination of these ingredients makes this mask a great option for any skin type. The ingredients work together to address many skin care issues, from dead skin cells to aging. After using the mask for 15-30 minutes, you’ll be impressed with the results when you rinse it away.

Lemon Olive Oil Mask

You’ll Need:

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • A few drops fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup cooked instant oatmeal (cooled)
  • 1 egg white

LEMON-1

Directions:
① Mix olive oil, lemon juice, oatmeal and egg white until smooth.
② Spread on your face and neck, massage gently using circular motion.
③ Leave it on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
④ Follow with your favorite facial moisturizer.

      @Priya,
      Yes, you can use the 2 ingredients but adding oatmeal or rice flour can help to exfoliate dead skin cells for glowing skin.

      @Goodness,
      You can try using yogurt or curd instead of oatmeal. The oatmeal helps for gentle exfoliation on your skin actually.

      Depending on hair length and thickness, mash and combine 1/2 to 1 whole peeled fresh banana with 1 to 2 Tbs virgin coconut oil. Apply thoroughly from roots to ends of unwashed hair. Put a clean tea towel in the microwave and heat for 1min to 90 secs. Meanwhile, pile or coil treated hair on top of head. Securely cover and wrap towel around head. Cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap and another light towel and leave in overnight. Run warm water through hair in the morning, shampoo (and detangle, if necessary). Allow to air dry, using NO styling products. Depending on the level of damage, if you do this hair masque every 7 to 10 days, you’ll see significant improvement in your hair’s condition within a month. If this doesn’t do the trick, I’d seriously consider taking a deep breath and going in for a chop job as a final solution. You don’t want your new growth simply growing into damaged length. The brittleness will only continue working it’s way up the hair shaft. I’d love to hear from you on how this works out for you if you decide to give it a try. Thx and good luck. L
