How to Make a Cleansing Face Mask

You don’t have to pay big bucks for a cleansing face mask. You can make your own at home.

A friend gave me a great recipe for a cleansing face mask, and I tweaked it a bit to come up with a mask that heals acne scars, improves overall complexion and deep cleans pores.

The main ingredients used in the mask are turmeric and honey. Both ingredients offer some incredible benefits. The honey has warming properties that help to open up your pores.

This makes it easy to deep clean your pores. The honey also has natural anti-inflammatory properties.

Turmeric is a spice that is often used to treat a variety of different skin problems, such as psoriasis. It has antibacterial properties as well, which helps to remove acne causing bacteria from your skin.

With these effective ingredients, this cleansing face mask is able to smooth your skin while deep cleaning pores. It also provides healing to scars and wounds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp of raw honey
  • ½ tsp of turmeric
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp of olive oil
  • ½ tsp of lemon juice
  • If the honey is a bit hard, pop it in the microwave for 8 seconds, but avoid making it too warm (the heating temperature should not exceed 40-50 (°C).) If you heat up the honey too much, you’ll eliminate the useful properties of the honey.

    Directions:

    • Wash your egg, separating the yolk. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze out a half teaspoon of the juice. Add all the ingredients to a small bowl, combining until you have a nice mixture.
    • You’ll love the bright, pretty color of the mask.

For the best results, cleanse your face and then steam your face.

    • To steam your face, wet a terry towel with some hot water and apply the towel to the skin for about a minute. Repeat two or more times. After steaming your face, apply your cleansing face mask using a cosmetic brush..
    • Allow the mask to stay on skin for 15-20 minutes. To remove the mask, use warm water to wash it away. To close your pores, rinse the skin with some cold water a few times. It’s also best to use this mask before bedtime.

Best time for mask procedure is before you go to bed.

The mask calms and soothes skin. However, you may notice that the turmeric leaves a bit of yellow color behind. That’s okay.

Your skin will be smooth and beautiful in the morning, and when you wash your face in the morning, any yellow color should wash away.
