When acne lesions occur, the body responds to this injury, which results in acne scars. Acne lesions contain inflammation, and when the lesions are deeper in the skin, they are often more severe.
These inflamed blemishes occur as a result of free radicals, dead skin cells and the overproduction of oil. When impurities clog up your pores, they can cause inflammation and acne breakouts.
The swelling often involved results in the dermis’ follicle walls breaking. This allows impurities to contact your dermis and healthy skin tissues are affected. Unfortunately, the process often leads to bad acne scars in the affected area.
Of course, no one wants to live with acne scars. In fact, you probably would love to find a way to make sure they instantly disappear. However, to eliminate those scars, you will need to have a bit of patience. Over time, natural, home remedies can give you the results that you want.
If you want a natural solution for lightening acne scars or dark marks, try these 3 steps to help to loosen and scrubbing off the acne scars. You can follow this routine and use it 2 or 3x a week.
Step 1. Olive Oil for Loosening Acne Scars:
First, you will want to start using a remedy that helps to loosen your acne scars. Using a non-comedogenic oil that won’t clog pores can help you soften and loosen the scar. Olive oil is best suited for this purpose and wonderful for skin and has been used as a beauty aid for thousands of years.
It helps provide moisture to the skin, reduces pore size and even helps to reduce inflammation. Olive oil will work on scars, contributing to loosen and moisturize them, so they are ready for the next step.
What To Do: Massage your face with one tablespoon of olive oil slowly. Then, put a steaming towel over the face. This will open up the pores and will also soften the skin. When the towel cools down, wipe off the oil.
Step 2. Baking Soda Scrub for Exfoliation:
After loosening the acne scars with olive oil, then you can start working on exfoliating the scar away. A natural exfoliant will be the best option.
Baking soda is an excellent choice because it is gentle, safe and cheap. Baking soda is very fine, and it will gently start scrubbing away the skin cells of the scar.
Make a paste of baking soda with a bit of cleanser, a moisturizer or just a little water and use it to exfoliate skin. Do this regularly to help exfoliate the dark marks or scars away.
What To Do: Baking soda is the best scrub for this purpose. Add one spoon of baking soda in one teaspoon of water and make a paste.
Gently rub this paste on the particular areas for 1 minute in circular motion. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Step 3. Treat and Build New Skin Cells with Vitamin C :
Once the dead skin cells are removed, apply any substance which is high in Vitamin C content. Now you need to work on treating the skin so it starts building new skin cells. Vitamin C is effective at healing skin, since this vitamin is used to replaced damage tissue with new tissue, ensuring proper healing.
Using vitamin C on skin also helps to fight free radicals and increases collagen production as well. Other benefits of using products with vitamin C topically include keeping skin cells healthy, brightening and lightening skin, reduces brown spots, reduces inflammation, improves skin hydration and reduces problems with oily skin.
What To Do: Concentrated lemon juice is the best option. Take a cotton ball and soak it in the juice. Now apply them on the face. After 5 to 10 minutes remove the cotton balls and let the skin dry.
After 15-20 minutes, wash it off with water. You can also use a mask made up of lemon juice daily to build new skin cells. Lemon also helps to even the skin tone.
You don’t have to continue living with those acne scars. By using a few natural ingredients, you can start eliminating those scars for good. Use these three remedies, starting with the olive oil. Over time, you will begin to see those dark marks or acne scars fade away, giving you the beautiful skin you want.
Additional Tips:
- Use sunscreen whenever you are going out in the sun. Sunlight darkens the scars as well as slows down the process of healing.
The ultra violet rays present in the sunlight stimulates the cells responsible for pigmentation and leads to discoloration.
- Exfoliate 2x a week to remove the dead skin on the scars naturally.
As the dead skin or cells are removed new cells and skin takes place to remove the signs of scars. You can use your regular face wash to exfoliate gently.
- Do not use abrasive scrubs for your skin, if you have scars and marks on your face. Face scrubs sometimes aggravate the scar tissues
- To avoid acne scars, don’t squeeze the pimples. The pus present in a pimple may get into the skin to further damage the natural skin collagen. Scars are naturally collagen, a process of the body to heal scars naturally. Therefore, never squeeze or pick the pimples.
- Drink sufficient water and have fresh fruits to keep your skin healthy, glowing and hydrated. Water clears the toxins out of the body and helps in maintaining healthy skin. Fruits have all the natural mineral and nutrients which are helpful in healing the scar tissues.
