How to get Rid of Skin Tags – Skin Tags are common skin problem that oftentimes form in areas such as groin, neckline, skin creases, underside of the arms, area beneath the breasts and eyelids but the armpit is generally the most common area where skin tags form. Despite the fact that skin tags are technically tumors, they are not cancerous and typically harmless yet they can cause inflammation and soreness if rubbed or shaved off hard.
Even though we really can’t explain the real causes of skin tags, the following are believe to be related with their existence:
1.) Irritation and chaffing from the skin rubbing together
2.) Release of hormones during pregnancy
3.) Diabetes that cause Insulin resistance
4.) Using of illegal steroids
5.) Human papilloma virus
I’m sure some people keep asking themselves on how to get rid of skin tags at home. I remember my mom used to have some skin tags but it was removed by a physician using the method of Cauterization – the process where skin tag is burned off using electrolysis. But I personally like simple and non surgical procedure to get rid of those nasty tags using home remedies as follows.
a.) Using soft cotton ball, apply tea tree oil to the tags at least 3 to 4 times a day, it will help your skin tags to become dry and fall off easily.
b.) Make a mixture of Castor oil and baking soda to form a paste and apply like topical paste on the skin tags.
c.) Tie a thin string like dental floss or sewing thread around the skin tag’s base for couple of days, this will cause the death of its tissues by cutting off the blood supply to the skin tag.
d.) For twice a day, use fingernail polish to entirely cover the skin tag. Once the nail polish will dries out, it can cause the skin tag to shrink and eventually disappear for 2 weeks.
e.) Or you can opt for a more drastic way by using a disinfected scissors or nail clippers and snip them off. Make sure to have the peroxide ready in case bleeding will occur which is inevitable.
