Some pleasant memories would be worth reliving, others are better to fade away as time heals everything. Unfortunately, this healing is not complete and most of us are left with scars both physical and emotional and dealing with them can be quite problematic.
When it comes to acne scars, it is known that old ones are much more difficult to remove than new ones, but this doesn’t mean that we should stop trying altogether.
The vast majority of acne scars don’t require cosmetic surgery and it would be excessive to resort to these extreme measures when there are better alternatives. A do-it-yourself recipe can help in mitigating these unaesthetic marks by lightening them up or even removing them all together.
Cucumber and lemon are great ingredients for face masks and they are both abundant and inexpensive so that anyone who is determined to improve their looks can use this recipe.
Obviously, if you get to choose, it is better to act as soon as you notice a scar because waiting for too long to apply the face mask will reduce the effects.
Unfortunately, most of those who decided it is time to do something about a nagging acne scar has been carrying these marks around for quite a while.
Yet, hope still remains and by using the mask daily, one can lighten even the most persistent scars until they are barely noticeable.
Last but not least, remember to use sunblock to preserve these results for as long as possible.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- lemon
- cucumber
- tea tree essential oil (optional)
- facial mask sheet (or you can use paper towel and cut it off to form a facial mask)

Directions:
① Grab your lemon and give it a quick roll so it’s easier to juice. Cut into halves and get all the juice, setting aside the seeds. Cut the cucumber in half and start grating them into another bowl.
② Once you’re done, gather your shredded cucumber and with clean hands, squeeze the juice into the lemon juice container. Cucumber is very soothing so it would help your skin once being exposed to lemon. Place the mixture into container and put it in the fridge for future use. The mixture could last to 5 days when store in the fridge.
③ When using the mixture, place your face mask in a container or a bowl and add the mixture to soak in the juice. You can add few drops of tea tree essential oil especially if you are suffering from breakouts.
④ Unfold your mask and simply lay the mask onto your face for 15 to 20 minutes, remove and then massage excess mixture into your skin. Make sure your face is thoroughly clean before the application.
⑤ After massaging the mixture on your face, rinse with lukewarm water. After rinsing, grab some ice cubes and wrap them in a wash cloth or paper towel and rub it on your face to close the pores. Continue with your night time routine.
