To say that acne is an issue that keeps teenagers awake at night and cause a great deal of distress would be an understatement. Even though it is not a life-threatening disease, those who are afflicted by it would go to great lengths to get rid of it and prevent it from re-emerging. There is no final solution for treating recurrent acne but there are several homemade remedies that eliminate it right away without side effects.

Sadly, there is more than meets the eye about acne and dealing with the breakout aftermath is a challenge for many. The main concern is addressing the underlying cause and in this particular case we are talking about the bacteria that led to the breakout. Once these microscopic enemies are annihilated, we need to use hydrating creams and lotions to restore the firmness of the skin, but this is not the final step.

Removing the scarring when it occurs is not a simple tasks even if these imperfections are not significant, but turmeric and honey are going to help greatly. These are both ingredients that exist in regular households, so all that is left is the desire to mix them together following the recipe.

The ultimate goal is to stimulate the skin to produce the right quantities of melanin as this will uniformly cover the scars and speed up recovery. Applying a homemade mask on the face and keeping it in place for a few hours is all it takes to successfully eliminate the consequences of acne breakouts.

Why Turmeric, Grapes and Honey?

Turmeric is loaded with powerful antioxidant properties and its great for fading scars, skin lightening and minimizing hyperpigmentation. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory and been known to soften skin, even out the skin tone, and helps to fade acne/stretch marks, used by Indian Brides for hundreds of years.

A green/red grape juice can lessen the acne scars and help prevent new ones from forming. This fruit is rich of powerful antioxidants, which can help support the healing of the skin. The fruit acids in grape juice will help to gently exfoliate the skin, making the turmeric-honey concoction penetrate and work even better.

While honey is a great moisturizer that helps minimize the irritation and will give the mask a thicker consistency.

Does it Work?

Just like any other natural home remedies, patience and being consistent are the key to achieve good results. You will see results after few weeks if applied regularly 2-3 times a week. But the best part is, you can see a finer pores and brighter looking skin as an immediate result after application.

Note with Caution: To enhance the impression of better quality, lot of spices contain artificial dyes and these colorants caused the stain. So, make sure to stick to genuine turmeric to avoid the nasty yellow stains, as the artificial counterparts are known to produce these undesirable side-effects.

As a precaution considering everyone’s skin behaves differently, do a patch test on a less noticeable area however, if the turmeric stained your skin, you can wipe it off with a warm cloth after rubbing castor oil or olive oil.
