Rebonding has become a popular procedure because it makes hair shiny, luscious and healthier-looking. It’s used to straighten curls and give that shampoo ad appearance.
Though the results of rebonding look spectacular, it does involve the use of harsh chemicals. These chemicals make frizzy or curly hair look straight, but it could also cause severe damage and hair loss.
Some natural oils can be used to improve the health of even the thinnest hair. This includes oils like coconut, castor and olive oil.
Coconut oil will promote faster growth and increased its strength. It is a wonderful source of vitamin E, capric and lauric acid.
All of these strengthen hair by promoting protein synthesis. The oil can penetrate deep inside each hair and nourish it from within.
If you’re considering rebonding as a viable option for your hair, you’ll need to stock up on these natural oils. While they are inexpensive, they will offer the most benefits.
If you’re considering rebonding, you’ll need to make sure that your hair is protected adequately. Otherwise, it may become damaged. A simple routine can be followed to strengthen the locks and reduce the risk of damage to the hair.
You’ll Need:
- Olive oil
- Castor Oil
- Coconut Oil
- whole fat yogurt or egg (optional)
Directions:
① Mix the oil ingredients thoroughly in 1:1 ratio.
② Heat them up by using a double broiler, once melted and has cool down a bit, gently massage the mixture into your scalp and hair ends.
③ Let it sit for 30-45 minutes and rinse it off thoroughly using a mild herbal shampoo.
④ (If you opted to add yogurt or egg, add this ingredient after the melted oil mixture has cooled down and apply/massage it into your scalp and hair ends).
Can I apply apple cider vinegar on my newly rebounded hair because the ends of my hair was too damage and it’s so dry. Can you help me deal with it . Thanks
hi, recently i have gotton my hair parmant straight. and till now everything is fine with my hairs. now should ia apply this oil or not?
hi Nitika,
Yes, you can try applying this oil on your hair, this will protect your rebonded hair for hair fall.
Hi I am 45 my hair were thick and soft although wavy. 7 years back I got rebounding done. Since then they have become horribly dry and frizzy. I oil them regularly but after washing, within few hours, again they become dry. Someone told me that if you use strong shampoo, the benefits of oiling gets washed off. So you should use mild shampoo. So my question is, how do you find out if shampoo is mild or harsh?
@Gopi Shah,
Check the ingredients for shampoo with sulfate-free. Or you can dilute the shampoo to make it less harsh.
How to dilute shampoo:
Lower the amount of shampoo by adding some water. The dilution rate you can try is 1 teaspoon (5 ml actually 1-2 teaspoons) shampoo in 1 cup (about 250 ml) water.
combination of olive oil caster oil and coconut oil is wonderful it really works
