Homemade Natural Skin Whitening Face Mask

Even though we love a great tan, there’s nothing better than a flawless skin. If you don’t have the skin type that can lend itself to porcelain skin, then it’s worth working on having this sort of photo-op perfection.

Here’s a whitening secret that will purify, lighten and make your skin glow. This mask is particularly useful in smoothing out a blotchy, uneven complexion. For best results, do this twice a week.

Benefits of the Ingredients
The secret ingredient is chopped parsley, an aromatic herb full of essential oils. Due to the high content of the natural whitening enzymes, parsley is very effective in whitening skin and teeth.

The sour cream adds a blend of nourishing proteins and exfoliating lactic acid that will help remove dead skin cells. Add a mashed cucumber pulp for even stronger, natural whitening action.

This mask can be stored in the fridge for 5 days.

  • 1 1/2 tbsp sour cream or thick Greek style yogurt (or curd)
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped and minced parsley
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sliced-cucumber, mashed into pulp

Chop and mince the parsley as well as the cucumber. Place them in the pestle and mortar to mash them into pulp. Or to make it quicker, just throw them in a blender.

Place sour cream or yogurt in a container and add the freshly mashed cucumber and parsley. Mix all together.

Apply a thick layer into your freshly washed face. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with tepid water.

Pat your face dry and apply moisturizer as usual. If you are doing this during the daytime, you should apply sunscreen of your choice before going outdoors.

Don’t try this one if you are pregnant. Parsley has estrogenic properties and can even stimulate milk production in women. So, if you are pregnant, you need to skip this one because you don’t need any more estrogen in your diet.
