Indian hair is expensive and high price, and sometimes it’s said to be worth far more than gold is. Just look at the price range of wigs, weaves, and extensions, and you’ll realize it probably is.

homemade oil for gray hair

The reason Indian hair is so expensive is that Indian women know the real secret behind gorgeous, beautiful hair. The secret has a lot to do with a plant that we often use in our food.

Benefits of Homemade curry leaves hair oil:

  • Helps promote excellent hair growth
  • Prevents problems with premature greying
  • Helps prevent hair loss
  • Makes hair stronger
  • Gives you the shiny, dark look you want

Where to Buy:
You can find coconut oil at most drugstores, some grocery stores, and retailers, and in most specialty organic stores. It’s also available online from specialty shops and places like Amazon. Fresh curry leaves are available at some grocery stores and specialty shops, especially those who specialize in fresh herbs or Indian food.

Curry – it tastes so delicious in your food. However, it also offers some excellent benefits for your hair. If you want to reap the benefits of curry, here’s an easy recipe that you can make yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • a bunch of fresh curry leaves

Directions:
homemade oil for gray hair
① Start by washing the curry leaves and then allow them to air dry in a shaded area. Spread out on a kitchen towel or a plate until they are completely dry. It’s important to make sure that there’s no moisture, since moisture can make your oil turn rancid faster.

② Place the 1 cup coconut oil in a pan, simmering/heating it over very low heat.

③ After the oil is hot, add the curry leaves and immediately turn off the heat.

④ Allow the oil to cool and then pour the oil and leaves into a bottle container. Just make sure that the leaves are immersed in the oil completely.

If the leaves aren’t totally immersed, your oil will go rancid fast. Let the leaves immerse in the oil for a while or until the mixture has cooled down before using it.

Important Note:
You need to avoid heating the oil up too high. Only heat the oil on low. High heat may make your oil go rancid fast. Another idea is to use a double boiler to melt the oil, which can help you avoid overheating the oil.

How To Use it :
Regularly apply this curry infused oil directly to the scalp. Gently massage into the scalp and allow the oil to stay on your scalp overnight (if possible) or at least for a few hours. Wash the oil away by shampooing your hair like normal the next day.

How Often: Use 2x or 3x a week.

I am facing tremendous hair fall since one month.I already consulted a dermatologist he said it would fall for a month even after medication .It is very disheartening to see the amount of hair falling every time I wash.My growth has reduced, in a fit of anger and frustration I cut nearly 4″ of my hair .I cried like anything to see my long hair becoming short. It took me years to grow them long.I am already applying curry leaves nd coconut oil but no difference .Pls help me out

      @Bina Faria,
There are lots of factors for hair fall. However, if the cause of your hair fall is stress related, try the scalp massage trick using coconut oil ( or olive oil, mustard, castor etc). I did this trick (scalp massage and my hair fall issue had become less of a problem).
For this curry-infused oil, try using this routine 2 or 3x a week for 3 months and you’ll see an improvement.
