Homemade BB Cream Recipe – Why Buy When you Can Make it at Home?

I love using BB cream because it has 5 essential all-in-one application. The BB Cream can substitute your favorite moisturizers, primers, serums, foundation and even sunscreen for your face and has been kicking around for more than 5 decades and maintained it’s popularity particularly in Asia and now in the US and Europe.

The cream was initially introduced in Korea where their popularity exploded. This cream is known as Asians’ prize porcelain, healthy-looking skin so it’s not surprising it turned out to be a crowd-puller.

This cream works pretty impressively and after further research, I decided to make my own using the ingredients that I normally have. It’s so simple and easy to create and best of all, it gives me a nice coverage with very little shine that lasts longer.

Curious to know more? Let’s dig in…

Why Buy When You Can Make it at Home?

The only answer that comes to mind is a convenience because we all love to get everything on a silver platter and quite often we are willing to pay for such a treat. There is no shortage of BB creams out there so very few will be compelled to make it themselves or forsake its benefits forever.

Taking a leap of faith every once in a while can lead to surprisingly pleasant results and you don’t have to take my word with the bb cream. Just give it a try and be amazed.

On one hand, you have the advantage of convenience if you buy the product from the store, on the other, you have a bundle of perks if you do it yourself. For starters, you get to choose the ingredients you throw into the mix and focus on those that are suitable for your skin.

Obviously, one can’t stray too far from the standard recipe and still enjoy the same results but some deviations can be beneficial. In a nutshell, you will get the chance to experiment and improve your bb cream all the time, while having loads of fun.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

① Moisturizer
Grab the creamy one to hydrate your skin if you are on the dry side, and get the oil free lotion if you have oily skin like me.

② Sunscreen
Use a sweat/water resistant sunscreen so the BB cream will adhere longer, also try to invest on sunscreen that is less greasy to avoid clogging your pores.

③ Favorite Foundation
Liquid/Cream foundation is the best instead of using the power version as I find it hard to blend well.

④ Monistat Chafing Gel
Did you know that chafing gel is one of the main ingredients in some makeup primers? And when you add this to your BB Cream mixture, it will make the cream stay matte and smooth on your face.

Though some people said that this can trigger breakouts, therefore, you can disregard this ingredient or you can go easy with the amount if you have an acne prone skin.

Every person has a unique skin type so I can’t guarantee this will work for you, though this one worked fine with me.

This is normally sold in stores next to the “feminine care” products.

⑤ A Clean Bottle or a Container with Lid

Here’s the ratio that kept me oil free for the longest:
1/3 foundation
1/3 moisturizer
1/6 chafing gel
1/6 sunscreen

Directions:
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and you’re all set. Just rub it on to your face like a moisturizer and this gives you a nice coverage. Apply setting powder as usual.

Forget about the pesky ingredients that cosmetic companies are casually adding to their products with complete disregard for health and long-term consequences.

With the homemade BB cream you are the artisan of your success and at the end of the day, you will have the pleasant surprise of discovering that the homemade variant is also less expensive.

Hi since all the ingredients used r synthetic, I would like to know if combining all these won’t affect their chemical composition which may harm the skin?
