Sure, you can head to the store or look online for natural products that will treat various skin problems. However, if you head to your kitchen cupboards, you can save some money and find great ingredients that effectively treat skin issues. I’ve been making my own toners, scrubs and cleaners with ingredients I found in my kitchen cupboards.
By avoiding certain foods and using my DIY natural products, I’ve started seeing some great results. Now I always use natural products for skincare and I make them all with ingredients from the kitchen. The following are a few DIY, natural products I love that will help reduce redness while improving your skin. Here are a few of my favorites:
One reason I often dealt with redness was because my skin didn’t like the harsh ingredients that were in my facial cleansers. Once I started using this natural cleanser, the redness and irritation went away. It’s also very easy to afford.
Recipe: Make your own face cleanser by mixing half a cup of vegetable glycerin, a tablespoon of castile soap and ¼ cup of honey together in a clean bottle. Combine well and then use like any other cleanser to wash your face morning and night, rinsing off with warm water and patting to dry.
2Natural Face Scrub
Many skin problems, such as whiteheads, are caused by dead skin cells. It’s important to slough away dead cells, which keeps them from clogging pores and lets your new skin shine through.
Recipe: Make your own natural face scrub by combining 1-2 tablespoon of olive oil and a ¼ cup of baking soda. Gently massage the scrub on your face in a circular motion. Then, leave on for a minute and then use a warm cloth to wipe your face.
It’s important to use a natural toner regularly, since it helps balance the pH level of your skin. I’ve been using a natural, Witch Hazel toner that helps to keep skin balanced while also reducing irritation and redness from my skin.
Recipe: Make your own all-natural toner by combining a ¼ cup of witch hazel, five drops of chamomile essential oil and ½ cup of white tea, cooled. After mixing well, simply apply to the face with a cotton pad or ball. Let the toner dry before using any other products.
You have a couple of different options for natural moisturizers. Try them both and use the one that works best for you, or you could rotate between the two.
A small amount of olive oil makes a great moisturizer. Jojoba oil also soaks into skin fast and keeps skin moisturized.
5Change your Diet:
While these natural skincare products will help to reduce redness, you also need to make some dietary changes for the best results. The foods you eat have a big impact on your skin. If you deal with redness or other skin problems, check out your diet.
Some foods are known to cause skin problems, including caffeine, processed foods, dairy, alcohol and sugar. While it can be tough to completely eliminate these foods from your diet, you can enjoy great results by simply reducing your intake of these foods.
The best thing you can do is focus on eating a clean, natural diet. Make sure that your diet is mostly made up of health foods, such as fish, veggies, legumes, fruit and whole grains.
I found out that you’ll find no quick fix or miracle product for amazing, beautiful skin. However, when you start making sure that your body gets important nutrients, you’ll start seeing a difference. If you’re dealing with redness or other skin problems, try these natural skincare recipes yourself and start changing your diet. You should find that they’ll completely change your skin, eliminating those skincare problems and giving you the smooth, glowing skin that you want.
