Give Your Oily Skin a Beauty Treatment While Thoroughly Cleansing Pores

[thrive_drop_caps color=’red’ style=’1′]I[/thrive_drop_caps]f you have oily skin, you probably notice that no matter how much you cleanse, within minutes the shine reappears and after a short while, it looks as though you’ve not washed your skin in a while.

It may not happen immediately, depending on how oily your skin is, but eventually, the oily shine begins to show.

You have several options, some of which come at quite a high price if you purchase them at your favorite beauty counter. However, you can make your treatment at home for pennies, and it works just as well.

You can steam your skin to open your pores and by adding a few drops of lemon juice, get even more benefits. Fill a bowl with steaming water, add the lemon juice and hold your face over the bowl with a towel over both to hold in the steam.

Keep your head over the bowl and cover your head until the steam begins to clear, about five minutes. Immediately wash your face with a product for oily skin, then rinse twice, first with warm water and then cold water to close your pores.

[thrive_text_block color=”note” headline=”The Benefits of Using Egg, Lemon and Honey”] [/thrive_text_block]
① As noted previously, honey has an antibacterial property, which can help if you have acne or other skin problems. It also is a humectant, which helps the skin retain moisture.

The reason your skin is oily is the excess sebum it secretes from the pores. The mixture helps shrink the pores and therefore reduces that amount.

② Egg white not only reduces the size of the pores, but it also makes the skin look firmer and younger, too. It helps remove oil and reduce future production without drying the skin.

③ Lemon juice, on the other hand, exfoliates the skin. It has a bit of an acidic reaction from the hydroxyl acids and vitamin C. The vitamin C also provides an antioxidant for the skin. The lemon juice is also a natural skin lightener and bleach.

The secret of success is in a mask. The mask I’m referring to is a beauty mask you apply and then remove, not a mask you wear to disguise yourself. It doesn’t require expensive ingredients; in fact, you may already have them in your kitchen.

You’ll Need:

  • one egg white
  • lemon juice – ( fresher is even better)
  • a quarter teaspoon of raw honey to the mixture for an antibacterial effect and to thicken it (optional)

Directions:

egg-mask-1

① Just put the egg white and lemon juice in a bowl and whip it with a whisk until it’s a bit frothy. Make sure the two ingredients are well blended ( you can also add raw honey, but this is optional)

② Wash your face thoroughly and dry it. Splash warm water on it and then apply the ingredients.
[divider style=’full’]
③ Pat the mixture onto your face with your fingertips or use an old makeup brush until you’ve covered all the oily areas. You’ll want to avoid the eye area. Use circular motions with an upward direction when you apply it.
[divider style=’full’]
④ Allow it to dry for approximately 15 minutes. As it dries, you’ll feel it gently tugging at the skin.

⑤ When it’s hard to your touch, it’s completely dry. All you need to do at this point is rinse it off with warm water and then moisturize your face (with a moisturizer suited for oily skin).
