DIY Easy MakeUp Setting Spray Recipe

If you’ve ever had your makeup done professionally, the lady may have sprayed a “Setting Spray” over your finished makeup to help keep it in place. If you’ve ever used a setting spray, then you know how valuable this recipe is.

A makeup setting spray is AMAZING but EXPENSIVE! The two brands that I’ve tried are MAC “fix+” and Urban Decay “all-nighter.” Both are great products but average about $10 per ounce… really? That’s nuts!

Well, no more smudge, smear faces for girls who can’t afford a $30 bottle of setting spray, because I’ve got a recipe for a setting spray that will anchor your makeup for a fraction of the cost, and it’s super easy too! Besides, this spray is better for your skin than those chemical-based store bought ones:

Why These Ingredients
Aloe Vera:
Aloe vera is probably one of the most important plants for skin health. Whether you need to get anti-aging effects or proper skin hydration, you should opt for aloe vera gel. Many cosmetics designed for the purpose cost significant amounts and they contain a medley of harmful chemicals on top of the aloe vera extract.

Growing your aloe vera plant is simple, and you can easily extract the gel from its succulent leaves. Once you do that, you are ready to create any moisturizer or soothing lotion.

Aloe vera gel protects the skin against harmful influences on a cellular level. It helps cells retain moisture, and it also has powerful anti-inflammatory qualities. This is why aloe vera extract is used in a wide range of remedies for acne and other common skin conditions.

Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E oil works to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the aging process. If we can fight off free radicals, then we can reduce wrinkles and keep the skin youthful-looking.

Vegetable Glycerin
When lightly spritzed onto the skin, it’s consistency will allow the glycerin to stick to the surface of your skin and “glue” your make-up in place until it is washed off.

However, because of the dilution and the light application, it will not be uncomfortable but will help to create a barrier between your makeup and all the many causes of smudges and smears.

It will not feel greasy, clog pores, or cause blemishes, because Vegetable glycerin is honestly the BEST facial moisturizer available. It is a Humectant, which means it can attract water like a magnet, drawing moisture from the air to your skin.

It is also an emollient, which means it will soften. Smooth, and improve the overall texture of your skin, and has some antibacterial properties, that will fight against blemishes.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A spray/spritz bottle
  • Aloe Vera juice (or Vegetable Glycerin)
  • vitamin E gel (or vitamin E oil)
  • Distilled Water (or rose water)

Directions:
① Fill your spritz bottle with 3 parts distilled water then add one part Aloe Vera Gel and one tsp of Vitamin E oil.
② Voila you have an all natural make fix spray.
③ Depending on how much you want to make, your “part” could be anything from a teaspoon to a cup.
④ I suggest to make them in small batches.
⑤ Just shake the bottle anytime you’ll use it.

      @Yukta,
My apology for the inconvenience. I actually received some complaints about the annoying pop up ads (which btw, those are not my ads). What I used to advise them is to “delete/clean up their cache or browse history” to get rid of those. Please try to do this trick and let me know if it works for you.
