DIY Cucumber Face Pack for Oily / Acne Prone Skin

If you have oily skin or you want to eliminate sunburn or a suntan, a cucumber face pack may be the perfect natural treatment for you. The main ingredient used in this face pack is cucumber, which is well known for its skin benefits.

The addition of lemon juice and raw honey only add to the advantages of the face pack, providing a treatment that gives you a host of benefits.

Using cucumbers on the skin helps to rejuvenate skin and improves your overall complexion, leaving you with soft, glowing skin. It also works as a toner, helping to tighten pores for more beautiful skin.

When you use a cucumber pack a couple of times a week, cucumbers can help bleach away freckles or a suntan, giving you the clear, lovely skin that you want. Of course, cucumbers help to hydrate skin as well, so while you’ll eliminate oil from the skin with the mask, it won’t dry skin out.

The Benefits of Cucumbers for Your Skin

Most people are aware of how wonderful cucumbers are for your eyes. Cucumbers help to rejuvenate the thin skin around the eyes, reducing puffiness and help to reduce the appearance of under dark eye circles as well. Cucumber also contributes to treating sunburn, cooling and soothing the skin so it can heal.

Honey Benefits

While cucumber is the main ingredient for the cucumber face pack, honey and lemon are added to the mask, adding some additional benefits for your skin.

The honey added to the face pack helps to provide moisture for the skin. It works well for individuals with oily skin since it helps remove oil without stripping skin of vital moisture.

Honey also contains antioxidants that contribute to treating sun damage, and it’s natural antibacterial properties help to cleanse skin. Honey is healing to the skin as well, which can prove helpful for individuals trying to eliminate breakouts.

Lemon Juice Benefits

Lemon juice helps exfoliate skin since the citric acid helps slough off dead skin cells. The antibacterial and cleansing properties of lemon juice help to combat breakouts as well.

Age spots and freckles can be lightened with lemon juice, although it does make skin photosensitive. The many vitamins found in lemon juice, such as vitamin C, are beneficial to skin, helping to fight off free radicals and improving overall skin tone and texture.

A cucumber face pack should be used after you wash your face with your normal cleanser. Not only does the pack work well on the face, but you can use it on your legs, arms, hands and neck as well, enjoying all the benefits that the ingredients have to offer.

You’ll Need:

  • 1 Fresh Cucumber
  • drops of 1/2 wedge lemon juice
  • 1 tsp raw honey or pure honey

  • Step 1:
Peel the skin of cucumber and slice them. Throw the cucumber slices into a blender and blend them well (without adding any water).
  • cucumber-slices-1

  • Step 2:
Once you finished blending the cukes, you can transfer the puree into a container and add 5-8 drops of lemon juice. Mix thoroughly. Be cautious in adding lemon juice (5-8 drops is enough) as adding too much of it can cause an excessive tingling sensation particularly if you have sensitive skin.
  • Step 3:
After that, you can now add 1 tbsp of honey and mix well.

  • Apply the mixture to a freshly cleanse and dry face by using a cotton pad/ball.
  • Gently massage the mixture into your skin.
  • Apply the leftover mixture onto your hands, neck and legs as well. This helps to hydrate the skin and works as an effective suntan removal.
  • Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and wash off with tepid water.
  • Store the leftover mixture into an ice tray and place in the freezer for future use.
