If you have oily or acne prone skin, it is recommended to use a facial toner that has salicylic acid in it otherwise known as BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid).

Of course, you can easily buy salicylic acid toner, but they are quite expensive and since I love making my own skincare products, creating this DIY toner is not actually complicated.

I heard so many good things about the benefits of this aspirin toner and so glad I added this routine to my daily skin care. I’m actually using this toner for more than a month now, and it helped me control my oily T-zone and lessen any blackheads.

Why These Ingredients
Apple cider vinegar is naturally antiseptic and antibacterial, and it helps balance the pH of your skin. Apples are loaded with nutrients like potassium, pectin, malic acid and calcium. The fermentation process used to make cider vinegar from the apples fortifies the vitamins and minerals, making them even more powerful.

Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is the most frequently used beta-hydroxy acid when it comes to skin care. It clears away excess oil, cleans out your pores and exfoliates your skin to loosen and help remove dead skin cells.

Witch Hazel is a natural astringent that helps control the acne by reducing inflammation and decreasing oil. Use witch hazel like you would a toner and consistent use should help reduce acne.

Caution: If you have sensitive skin, use sparingly and if you have an adverse reaction, stop using it asap.

You’ll Need:
5 Non-coated aspirin tablets
3 oz Distilled water
1/2 oz Apple Cider Vinegar or 100% Witch Hazel
I recommend using this only at night (Salicylic acid causes the skin to become sensitive to UVA/UVB)

Directions:
① Powder the aspirin tablets by crushing them using the pestle and mortar..

② Funnel the powdered aspirin tablet in the container and dilute it with water and ACV or witch hazel.

③ Shake well and apply toner to your freshly washed face using cotton pad concentrating in areas with acne, rough skin or enlarged pores. The solution will stay fresh for one month in the refrigerator.

    Thank you! I can’t tell the dose of the aspirin in the picture. How many mg of aspirin is in your formula? Or percentage?

      @Shazia,
      You can use this mixture even if you are on the dry side. Just simply apply moisturizer after the application, but if it irritates your skin, this remedy is not meant for you
