DIY Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
I think it is only fair to start by saying that I am a big fan of the avocado as this is a fruit with multiple uses and amazing benefits for our health.
Having said this, it comes as no surprise that one of my experiments involving the fruit ended in a major breakthrough in the fight against wrinkles.
My friends think that I am obsessed with them and try to ease my concerns by saying that they don’t even show and only under the microscope someone could see most of them.
I appreciate their attempts at comforting me, but the only effective remedy is to actually make the wrinkles less visible if not wipe them completely.
Avocado seems to have the uncanny ability to reduce visible wrinkles, eliminate puffiness and it is just as effective against dark circles.
All these imperfections are annoying and trying to address them individually is not only time consuming but also very expensive.
My cabinet used to be full of creams and lotions that allegedly work wonders in eliminating the aforesaid problems, but their benefits were mediocre at best.
Given the fact that you need to apply them often and in generous quantities, it is only natural for the bill to get even bigger.
My homemade avocado anti-wrinkle cream, on the other hand, doesn’t cost a lot and without fearing any side effects, which makes it a win-win solution, hence easy to recommend.
Why Avocado?
Avocados are loaded with several important nutrients including Vitamin E, potassium, folic acid, many B-vitamins, and monounsaturated fats (good fats). Because of these healthy fats and essential nutrients, avocados provide wonderful benefits to your skin – whether you eat them or apply them directly to the skin.
They are quite beneficial as a skin moisturizing dry skin. The skin and area around the eye are particularly sensitive, therefore you should always test a small area prior to applying anything to the whole area.
You’ll Need:
- 1 or 2 small slice of fresh ripe avocado
- 2-3 drops of almond oil or olive oil
I normally make a small batch just enough to last a few days, then I put it inside the fridge using an airtight container.
Directions:
① Cut the avocado lengthwise around the seed and open the two halves to expose the pit. Use a spoon to scope out the pit.
② Then, mash the avocado until it is nice and creamy before adding 2-3 drops of Almond oil or olive oil and mix well.
③ Apply to any wrinkles and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water to leave your skin feeling fresh and smooth.
Quick Tip:
To reduce the puffiness from under the eyes, grab a slice of peeled avocado and put it on your eyes while lying down. Relax and leave for about 20 minutes before rinsing.
