How to Use Coconut Oil for Weight Loss

Anyone that’s trying to lose some weight knows that it can be difficult to sustain the results over the long run. The good news is that various natural possibilities exist to guarantee steady blood sugar levels.

Preventing the ups and downs is essential for overcoming those diet-wrecking cravings.

How to Use Coconut Oil for Weight Loss

How to Control the Blood Sugar?
Coconut oil is one of the best possibilities for keeping your blood sugar levels steady due to its healthy and satiating fats. Also, it is an excellent source of medium chain saturated fatty acids (MCTs) that can be used to give the body a lot of energy and boost the metabolism.

It may come as a big surprise, but you should limit the use of olive oil, especially if you’re trying to lose weight. Olive oil is usually advertised as one of the market’s healthiest possibilities but substituting it with coconut oil will make your nutritional regimen so much healthier.

Researchers have found out that the fat in the human body is mainly composed of monounsaturated lipids. These are the ones that olive oil is very rich in! Stay away from the oils that contain monounsaturated fats, if you’re trying to lose weight. Coconut oil happens to be tremendously beneficial, and it’s also great for weight loss.

Tips on Getting All of the Coconut Oil Weight Loss Benefits

Start by liquefying coconut oil because it is normally in solid form at room temperature. The best thing you can do is to use hot water to change its consistency.

Eating coconut oil 20 minutes before your meal is critical because it will quickly decrease your appetite and reduce the amount of food that you’re going to consume. It helps you feel full more quickly and be satisfied with smaller portions.

How To Do It:

  • The procedure itself is quite simple. Put one or two tablespoons of coconut oil (see the guidelines below on how much to consume) in an 8 or 10 oz mug.
  • Add some hot water to it and stir until the oil turns into a liquid. If you want to intensify the benefits – add an herbal green tea and let it steep for a while before drinking.
  • Drink this warm mixture immediately, and you’ll find yourself capable of enjoying a much smaller meal without feeling hungry soon after.

You can read my post on how to easily incorporate coconut oil in your daily diet here.

The amount of coconut oil to consume will depend on your body weight. So, use guidelines to determine how much oil to consume before each meal.

① If you weight anywhere between 90 and 130 pounds, consume one tablespoon of coconut oil before each meal 3x per day (a total of 3 tbsp per day.)

② Individuals that weight between 131 and 180 pounds should consume 1.5 tablespoons of coconut oil before each meal 3x per day (a total of 4.5 tbsp per day).

③ The ones over 180 pounds should consume two tablespoons of coconut oil before each meal 3x a day (a total of 6 tbsp per day)

Whether you eat coconut oil before a meal or with it, you’ll soon find yourself eating less and feeling much better about the weight loss plan.

UPDATE: Some people feel queasy after taking the coconut oil. If you experience this way, my advice is to start with a very small amount and gradually increase.

Most likely your body will get used to it. I take about 2 or 3 teaspoons per day, but I had to build up VERY slowly. Or you can incorporate the COCONUT Oil in your smoothie. Remember, start with a small amount first and see how your body will get used to it.

① Coconut oil helps with weight loss as it helps to control/balance appetite if taken before a meal or as a snack. I have fewer cravings because my body is satisfied and nourished by the coconut oil.

② Coconut oil is a super energy booster. Try it. It’s not like caffeine. The energy I’m talking about is longer lasting and stable. Coconut oil helps me focus.

③ Coconut oil makes my skin glow and my hair shiny. Especially if you struggle with acne, try taking coconut oil every day. I even put coconut oil topically on my skin. Just remember that a little goes a long way.

Choosing the Best Coconut Oil
Needless to say, you have to pick the right kind of coconut oil to enjoy the biggest benefits for weight loss purposes. While coconut oil is very resistant to heat damage, solvents are frequently used to extract it, therefore, always read the label before purchasing anything.

Organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil is the best variety. It contains all of the essential micro-nutrients and beneficial ingredients that turn coconut oil into such a fantastic food.

    @Shravya,
Just check the label if they are 100% coconut oil – also, cold-pressed coconut oil is the best.
