I am a huge green tea advocate because this stuff is so powerful when it comes to weight loss and also an anti-oxidant. Green tea is a great way to de-puff your skin and to create a clarity women search for in their complexion.
Green tea facials at spas are expensive and the good news is, you can create one at home for pennies. This calming green tea mask should be gently smoothed on your skin. it will make your complexion even-toned by alleviating blotchiness and more youthful by hydrating the skin.
You’ll Need:
1 tea bag of green tea
2 tbsp of sour cream (or yogurt)
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp honey
1Brew an extra strong green tea bag in 1/4 cup of water until it has boiled down to 1 tablespoon, then cool in the fridge for 15 minutes.
2Mix all other ingredients until well-blended and stir in the cooled green tea concentrate. Spread mixture over cleansed and exfoliated skin and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Note: This is a soft mask and will not dry. Rinse well with warm water and follow with natural toner, moisturizer etc. Use this mask once or twice a week and soon you should see a brighter, healthier, clearer complexion.
Why These Ingredients
With ingredients like soothing green tea, cooling sour cream, hydrating olive oil and nourishing egg yolk, your sensitive skin will never be the same. Green tea is full of antioxidants and calming properties. Sour cream has lipids and proteins to soothe and nourish dry skin and make it silky smooth.
Honey has been used as a beauty product since the say of Cleopatra. It is a natural humectant which means it has the ability to attract and retain moisture. The skin’s ability to stay moist (or hydrated) is an important factor in its ability to maintain softness and elasticity. As skin ages, or as it is exposed to environmental stresses and chemical agents, it loses its ability and grows dry and appears wrinkled.
Because its all natural and doesn’t irritate the skin, honey is also suitable for sensitive skin. Egg yolk’s concentrated fat and protein is incredibly nourishing. Olive oil, full of vitamins, minerals and proteins, is gentle on sensitive skin and attracts moisture and holds it close to the skin. It forms a breathable film to prevent moisture loss and won’t clog pores.
