If you have oily face like me, this face mask can help you get rid of excess oil on your face. Think this as a one-step “gravy facial”, as you can create an amazing weekly facial that will get rid of pimples and redness by starting this regimen. Consistent application also aids in the removal of blackheads, shrinking of pores, whitening and smoothing of the skin. Its antibacterial properties also makes it a good remedy for acne.
This treatment works because the lycopnene present in the tomatoes de-clog your pores while working as a powerful astringent to ward-off bacteria that causes pimples. The facial massage helps the circulation and allow the juices to penetrate even deeper. Your pores will be glad that you skipped one salad and use a tomato for beauty.
1/2 slice tomato
2 tbsp of lemon juice
1 tbsp gram (besan) flour (this is optional to make a paste consistency)
I have religiously applied tomato mask onto my face for the past 6 weeks and noticed that the pores seemed to tighten a bit while my blackheads are less visible now, although there’s no overnight cure for natural remedies, consistency is the key.
1Slice tomato and put them in a blender ( or you can use a mortar and pestle if you have one, it is easier to mash up the tomato into a pulp). Transfer the freshly pulp tomato into a container and add lemon juice.
2Add gram flour to the mixture to make a paste-like consistency. (This process is optional, but I just like the paste-like consistency when applying face mask on my face.)
3Place the mixture on your face and let it sit for 15 – 20 minutes. Relax and let the tomato juice sink into your pores. Rinse with warm water and splash cold water after rinsing to close the pores.
