Parsley is a natural ingredient that offers excellent skin lightening properties. This means that it’s a wonderful ingredient to use if you want to eliminate discolored skin or dark spots on your skin. Fresh parsley is also a great treatment for acne.
Some skincare products actually use parsley extract. However, you’ll end up paying a big price for only a tiny amount of parsley extract. Instead of purchasing expensive products, consider making your own parsley face mask. You’ll enjoy improved effectiveness, greater strength, and a much lower cost.
Benefits of the Ingredients
Parsley offers a lot more than just the ability to reduce dark spots. It also can be applied topically to heal blemishes and prevent further outbreaks of acne.
This mask also features lemon juice, which also is an effective treatment for skin discolorations and dark spots.
Just remember, if you use fresh lemon juice on your skin, your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so make sure you wear sunscreen.
If you want to see improved skin, use this parsley face mask 2 or 3x a week. However, it’s better to use the mask thrice weekly if you want to reduce skin discoloration and eliminate acne.
Just be sure to keep the mask away from the eye area, since this area is very delicate.
You’ll Need:
- 1 medium-sized head of fresh parsley, soaked in warm water then well chopped.
- 1 tbsp of fresh lemon juice (use only half of the amount if you’re in the dry side or skip this ingredient if you have sensitive skin )
- 2 tsp raw honey
1.) Chop parsley leaves and crush them using the mortar and pestle until they turned into a paste-like consistency (Curly parsley with its darker green color may be a little better for this face mask, but the flat leaf variety is fine if that’s what you have.)
2.) Add the lemon juice and mix in the raw honey and mash it all up well with the pestle. You can transfer it to a lighter bowl to use.
3.) To apply this face mask, first cleanse your skin. Rinse and pat dry, then gently smooth the mask over your face, avoiding the eye area.
As long as you’ve mashed up the parsley well and mixed the ingredients, it’s beneficial properties will be throughout the treatment.
4.) Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes to let the treatment do it’s work.
5.) Rinse it off with tepid water and follow with a chemical-free moisturizer like hyaluronic acid serum. Or try using avocado oil as a face moisturizer, especially in the evening.
What to Expect When Using the Mask
When you use this all-natural parsley face mask, you may notice a bit of stinging from the added lemon juice. If you any breakouts, you’ll probably feel the stinging.
Usually it will go away in just a minute. However, if the stinging is bad or it gets worse, was the face mask off your skin immediately and soothe the skin with some aloe vera gel.
If the mask irritates your skin, consider adding some raw honey to the parsley mask instead of lemon juice.

@Sindhu,
Yes, you can use a mixer to make the parsley leaves to a paste-like consistency and you can store the leftover int eh fridge and use it up within 3 days or discard if the mixture smells rancid.
But I recommend to create small batches since we are using fresh ingredients with no preservatives – Fresh is the best and yield more benefits.
