Cinnamon adds delicious flavor to many dishes, and it’s ideal for baking. You may know that cinnamon also offers many great health benefits. However, you may not be aware that you can use cinnamon as a part of your beauty routine.

All the antioxidant, analgesic and antifungal properties aren’t just good for the inside of your body – they’re also great for your skin. Applying cinnamon topically can offer your skin some great benefits, so consider spicing up your beauty routine with these exciting cinnamon beauty tips.

Here are some ways to use cinnamon in your beauty routine.

1. Bright and Natural Bronzer

Another great way to use cinnamon in your beauty routine is to make your own bronzer. Bronzer is a great way to give your face some sun-kissed color during the cold, bleak winter months. Combine some cocoa powder, cornstarch, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Mix well and then dust a bit on your hand to see how it works with your skin tone. If it’s too dark, add some more corn starch. If it’s too light, add a bit more cinnamon or cocoa powder. Simply use on your face the way you normally use bronzer.

2. Brighten Red Hair

Do you have naturally red hair or dyed red hair? If so, cinnamon can keep your locks looking bright and beautiful. Simply add a bit of cinnamon to your normal conditioner.

Apply conditioner to your hair and then wrap hair in plastic wrap or a shower cap. Allow the conditioner and cinnamon to stay on hair for 6-8 hours, or overnight. Rinse in the morning, and you’ll love how gorgeous and bright your locks look.

3. Heal Yeast Infection

If you have any yeast infection, consider using cinnamon to help cure the problem. Cinnamon has natural antifungal properties, so it fights of these types of infections.

Try drinking cinnamon and Ceylon tea for several days, and find other ways to add more cinnamon to the foods you eat. Add it to toast, sprinkle some in your oatmeal, toast, porridge or add to other dishes. This should help fight the yeast infection, helping you recover faster.

4. Natural Lip Balm

This lip balm tastes yummy, but you don’t want to lick it off. Combine a tablespoon of cinnamon to some melted coconut oil. Mix well and allow it to set.

After the oil sets again, you’ll have a great DIY lip balm that smells and tastes wonderful.

5.Easy DIY Cinnamon Face Powder

You can also make your DIY face powder with cinnamon. Mix about three teaspoons of cornstarch with two tablespoons of cinnamon. Adjust the color by adding more cinnamon or a little more cornstarch.

When you have the right shade, dust the powder on your face using a large powder brush for a beautiful glow. You can adjust the color of the face powder by adding more or less cinnamon to the corn starch.

6. Cinnamon Facial Scrub

A good scrub can help slough away dead skin cells, leaving you with glowing, beautiful skin. Make your own homemade cinnamon scrub by combining coconut nectar/oil, sugar, and cinnamon.

Gently rub the mixture over skin and then rinse away using warm water. You’ll love how soft and beautiful your face is when you’re done.

7. Freshen Up Bad Breath

If you’re out of toothpaste or you want a natural way to freshen your breath, cinnamon can come to the rescue once again. Grab a teaspoon of cinnamon and mix with some warm water.

Use the cinnamon water like you would mouthwash, gargling for about 30 seconds. The cinnamon will freshen your breath.

8. Acne Mask with Honey for Acne Scars

Do you have acne or acne scars? If so, whip up your raw honey and cinnamon acne mask. Combine raw honey and cinnamon and apply the mixture to the areas affected by acne or scars.

Are you dealing with oily skin? If so, this oatmeal cinnamon mask will be the perfect cure. Combine lemon juice, oats, and cinnamon.

      @Zh,
      Dont use the cinnamon oatmeal mask daily, only use 2 or 3x week. This mask can mildly exfoliate your skin and you dont need to exfoliate your skin everyday.

      @Deep,
      Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum that is used in both sweet and savoury foods.
      If you are using cinnamon as a facial scrub or mask, you need to use the powdered one.
