You probably know raw honey offers some wonderful skin benefits. Perhaps you’re even aware that drinking warm water each morning provides great benefits too. However, you may not be mindful of the fact that combining honey and warm water provides some incredible health benefits.

Mix the two together and you have a sweet drink that has a lot to offer you. Here are just a few of the honey water benefits you’ll enjoy as you add this water to your daily routine.

① Keep Your Digestive System Regular
Many people have problems staying regular, but drinking honey and warm water in the morning can offer some great benefits to your digestive system. Honey is a natural antiseptic, and it helps to eliminate problems with acidity in the stomach and increase intestinal mucus production.

The water provides hydration to your colon and adds more water to waste, making it easier for you to pass waste efficiently. It improves regularity as well, and when it becomes easier to eliminate waste, you’ll notice some weight loss too.

② Aids in Weight Loss
When you drink honey water, it can help you take off those extra pounds. You may be worried about the natural sugar in honey, but that’s a benefit. Since it is natural sugar, it’s good for you and gives you healthy calories. It can also help to eliminate cravings for sweet beverages as well.

Drinking sugared sodas only fill you up with empty calories, but you still grab that drink when you’re craving it. If you start cutting back on the sugared soda, you’ll decrease your calorie intake and start seeing pounds melt away. This offers some great results over time.

③ Reduces Problems with Allergies
In some cases, honey water may help to reduce your problems with allergies. However, to enjoy this benefit, you need to use local, raw honey, which may help the body acclimate to the pollens found in your specific area.

This helps to reduce problems with environmental allergies in the region. While the water doesn’t specifically contribute to reducing allergies, staying hydrated is important.

④ Boosts the Immune System
Another benefit of hone water is its ability to boost your immune system. Natural honey has antibacterial properties and organic, raw honey also has plenty of important minerals, vitamins and enzymes, which help to protect your body from bad bacteria.

Manuka honey has been studied, and researchers found that this type of money may even help to reverse the problem of bacterial resistance to certain antibiotics. Since honey is a great antioxidant, it also contributes to eliminating free radicals, which can cause skin damage and other damage throughout the body.

⑤ Treats Coughs and Sore Throats
Honey water works well for treating coughs and sore throats as well. Honey is well known for its ability to help soothe a sore throat, reducing the irritation in the throat.

The warm water will help to soothe the throat while the honey coats the area to offer relief. This also contributes to treating a cough, since a sore throat often irritates the throat and causes coughing.

⑥ Increases Energy Levels
Instead of turning to coffee when you wake up, drink your honey water each morning. It helps to increase your energy levels in several ways. First, the hydration from the water helps improve energy levels. After all, think of a plant. When you don’t water it, it starts looking sad and droopy. The same thing happens to your body if you don’t hydrate enough.

Mild dehydration may result in you feeling sluggish, drowsy and lethargic. Honey also offers some benefits, since it is a natural source of carbs and simple sugars. When combining the two, you really get a nice energy boost in the morning. Of course, it doesn’t mean that you have to eliminate coffee from your life, but if you start feeling drowsy and fatigued, try honey water before you turn to a cup of coffee to see if it helps.

⑦ Improves Overall Health
Drinking the honey water helps to improve your overall health. You’ll enjoy all the benefits that come with staying well hydrated. Regularly consuming this drink will also help to increase your good cholesterol levels, which will reduce your chances of dealing with cardiovascular problems.

⑧ Detoxifies the Body
When you drink honey water, it helps detoxify your body. Since it helps your digestive system work the way it should, it ensures your body is eliminating toxins and waste regularly. If you want to increase this benefit, start adding a bit of lemon juice to the water.

Lemons help to ensure your urinary tract is healthy and will assist the body to eliminate toxins through urination as well. The citric acid in the lemons will contribute to maximizing the function of enzymes, stimulating your liver, so it helps the body remove toxins.

⑨ Reduces Gas
If you are dealing with gas and the bloating that often comes with gas, try drinking some warm honey water. The honey should help to neutralize the problem with gas. You should start noticing some relief fairly quickly after you drink the water.

Water and raw honey are both fantastic for your body, and when you combine them, they offer so many excellent health benefits. Now that you’re aware of the health benefits start making your own honey water. It tastes good, and your body will love it.
