If you’re eating right and exercising, it’s hard to figure out why you’re not burning more calories and seeing the weight loss you desire. Unfortunately, many people make big mistakes that wreck metabolism. The worst part is that you probably don’t even realize what you are doing wrong.

Here is a closer look at the mistakes you may be making, sabotaging your metabolism and your weight loss efforts. You’ll also learn how to fix those mistakes so you can boost metabolism and start burning more calories regularly.

Metabolism-1
1You Don’t Drink Enough Water
1-1
If you’re not getting enough water each day, you’re wrecking your metabolism. Every bodily function requires water. Without enough water, your body cannot perform those functions optimally, which means you’re not burning as man calories as you could be burning. Drinking cold water can also boost your calorie burn, since the body has to work to bring that water to your body temperature. This means that drinking cold water is a better way to boost metabolism than drinking hot or warm water is.

2You’re Not Getting Enough Vitamin D
2-1
A vitamin D deficiency may make it harder for you to lose weight. Without enough vitamin D you end up with higher ghrelin levels, a hormone that makes you feel hungry. This makes you eat more, making it tougher to lose weight. It is often difficult to get the right amount of vitamin D from diet alone, so a supplement may help, especially during the winter months when you don’t get as much sunlight.

3You Focus on Cardio
3-1
Cardio is great and offers many benefits. However, if you’re only doing cardio when you exercise, you aren’t getting the metabolism boost that you need. Some cardio should be included in your workout routine, but to boost metabolism, begin adding some strength training to workouts as well.

4You’re Raiding the Fridge at Midnight
4-1
While you already know that it’s important to get regular meals to keep your metabolism going, those midnight snacks could be a problem. Research shows that you should have several hours each day that you don’t eat, and experts suggest that you go 10-12 hours without eating at night. If you’re having a late night snack and then eating breakfast early, you could be lowering your metabolism.

5Cut Caffeine Out of Your Diet
5-1
Unfortunately, many people think that caffeine is bad for them, but it actually can help boost metabolism. While you shouldn’t begin pounding six cups of coffee a day, drinking a cup or two of coffee or green tea may help you to keep your metabolism in high gear.

6You Skimp on Sleep
6-1
Failing to get enough shuteye is another mistake that may be messing up your metabolism. Sleep deprived people generally weight more than people who get a healthy amount of sleep on most nights. When you don’t get enough sleep, the hormones that control your appetite are throw off, which may make you feel hungrier. Try to get seven hours each night to keep appetite-controlling hormones under control.

7You’re Constantly Stressed
7-1
Dealing with too much stress affects your body in many negative ways. It also can wreak havoc on your metabolism. When you’re stressed, cortisol, a stress hormone, is activated and makes your body store more fat. Start relaxing more and learning ways to manage stress to avoid sabotaging your metabolism.

8You’re Consuming Too Many Pesticides—and Eating Off of Plastic
8-1
When is seems like you’re doing everything you can to boost your metabolism but you’re not seeing results, then it’s time to consider looking at your food and how you are eating. Certain chemicals in pesticides and plastics may disrupt endocrine levels, making you gain weight.

Now that you know some of the mistakes that may be slowing your metabolism, you can take measures to fix these problems. Stop making these mistakes and enjoy a higher metabolism, as well as improved weight loss success.

      @Harishikha,
The weight loss drinks may have WORKED for me but may NOT work for you. It really depends on your eating habits and lifestyles.
You should incorporate this drink with regular exercise and balance diet in order to lose weight.
