Next time you begin to feel thirsty, consider making a nice glass of cucumber water. Not only does it help to hydrate your body, but it can help you look and feel better too.

Here’s a look at some of the excellent benefits you’ll enjoy when you begin drinking cucumber water, as well as some delicious recipes you may want to try.

You would be surprised at the many health benefits of drinking cucumber water. It can lower your blood pressure, curb your appetite and reduce the risk for cancer.

Benefit #1 – Improves Hydration

One great benefit of cucumber water is that it helps to hydrate the body, and when you drink it, you’ll enjoy the benefits of being well hydrated. Some of these benefits include assistance with toxin removal, body temperature maintenance, and keeping your cardiovascular system healthy.

When your organs get the water they need, they are better able to do their job, and staying hydrated will also ensure that you have plenty of energy. Cucumber water adds something special to your water, which means you’re more likely to drink it regularly, ensuring you stay hydrated. Make sure that you use spring water or purified water so you can enjoy the best results.

Benefit #2 – Offers Essential Vitamins and Minerals

While water is essential for your body, it’s not a great source of important vitamins on its own. However, the addition of cucumbers allows you to add essential vitamins and minerals to your water, supplementing your diet.

Some cucumber water recipes include fruit as well, which means you’ll get extra vitamins and antioxidants, such as vitamin C and vitamin A.

Since you are getting the vitamins from whole food sources, your body is better able to absorb and utilize them than if you purchased commercial waters that said they had added vitamins.

Benefit #3 – Reduces Blood Pressure

It’s important to keep your blood pressure at healthy levels, since this helps with the prevention of vision loss, heart attack, stroke, or kidney disease. When you drink cucumber water, you keep the body hydrated and you help lower blood pressure, thanks to the potassium that is found in cucumbers.

Cucumbers are practically sodium-free, so you’ll get the maximum benefits of potassium if you’re having trouble with high blood pressure. Just avoid going overboard with water intake, since you don’t want to make your body retain fluid.

Benefit #4 – Reduces Your Appetite

If you’re feeling hungry, drinking a tall glass of delicious cucumber water may help you wait to eat until your next meal. If you eat when the body isn’t really hungry, it may result in sluggishness, weight gain, and other problems.

When you start feeling hungry before meal times, try drinking. You may just be thirsty since hunger and thirst both use the same signal. Drinking the cucumber water can help you figure out if you’re really hungry or just thirsty. If you start saving yourself a few snacks each week, it can actually contribute to improving your health.

Benefit #5 – Offers Skin Benefits

When you keep your body hydrated, it helps the skin stay smooth and supple. Adding the cucumbers to the water adds more nutrients to the water, which offers even more skin benefits. Cucumbers are a great source of silica, a nutrient that offers many skin benefits.

After you drink the cucumber water, you can use the cucumbers, since they can help to calm the irritation that comes from blemishes or acne. Not only will you be helping skin from the inside, but using the cucumbers topically will help skin from the outside too.

Benefit #6 – Keeps Muscles Health

It’s important to keep muscles strong and healthy, whether or not you’re working to add more muscle to your body. The silica found in cucumbers also helps to keep your muscles strong and healthy. If you regularly engage in strength training, cucumber water is a great choice.

The cucumber water will also help you ensure that your muscles can function at their best. Drinking cucumber water daily will help keep your muscles, and the rest of your body healthy.

Benefit #7 – Detoxifying and Antioxidant Properties

If you are doing a detox, drink cucumber water to help the body detox. The water includes antioxidants that help to fight free radicals, and the cucumber water will help your body to flush away toxins as well. You don’t have to detox your body just once a year.

You can make sure that your body is always eliminating toxins by paying attention to the foods you put in your body. Regularly focusing on detoxifying the body will ensure that you feel amazing throughout the year.

Benefit #8 – Could Have Anti-Cancer Benefits

Some studies have shown that cucumbers may be able to help fight cancer. If you add cucumber water to a healthy lifestyle, you may be able to prevent cancer. Of course, on their own, they won’t prevent cancer alone, but when combined with a healthy lifestyle, they definitely can help.

You’ll be taking in plenty of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients like the cucurbitacins found in cucumbers giving you a better chance at staying healthy long-term.

          hi Selena,
Yes, you can just cut the cucumber and throw them in one pitcher. Let it sit overnight in the fridge and drink the whole pitcher in a day. Don’t throw the cucumber slices yet, as you can fill them up with fresh water for the 2nd day. But discard them on the 3rd day. Fresh yields better results.
