I should have started by saying that life is not only better but also longer without sugar, because all the information we have right now suggests that sugar is truly a white poison. I can totally relate to those who can’t imagine life without sugar because I am a big fan of sweet things and if I don’t get my fix, I can’t function properly. It’s hard to focus on the task at hand when the only thing you can think of is a candy bar or a piece of cake, but fortunately there are alternatives.
Honey is healthier, obviously natural and it also makes food taste better so it is an excellent substitute for sugar, which is mostly synthetic. There is a certain link between the way we look and the way we feel and the very idea that sugar makes us fat while affecting our teeth is a good reason to put it away.
It has no nutritional value and it contains plenty of calories without any upside, and although on the short term you feel happy, on the long run it makes you nervous.
Sugar leads to negative consequences that are both obvious and insidious, and these effects compound over longer periods of time. I don’t think you knew that sugar is also responsible for causing wrinkles or that it weakens your immune system bringing it close to the breaking point.
If all these arguments still don’t convince you, remember that sugar also causes heart and kidney problems while being the leading cause of diabetes.
