Many fruits have benefits for your skin, but lemons have many uses when it comes to keeping skin looking incredible. Lemons are well known for having many health benefits, but you may not realize how many ways you can use them for healthy, fabulous skin.
Here are the top seven exciting ways you can use lemons for skin that looks young and beautiful.
Way #1 – Eliminate Blackheads – Take some lemon juice and apply it to the area that is affected by blackheads. This will help to eliminate the blackheads over time. Apply the lemon juice each night, rinsing it away with some cool water the next morning. Continue until you have eliminated the blackheads.
Way #2 – Reduce the Appearance of Age Spots – Unfortunately, age spots show up as you grow older, but lemons can come to your rescue. Take a bit of straight lemon juice and apply to age spots. Do this right before bed, then use cool water to wash it off when you wake up. Give it a couple weeks and you’ll notice that your age spots are fading. You can even soak your whole body to reduce age spots by adding about ½ cup of fresh lemon juice to a bath, soaking in the bath for 15-20 minutes.
Way #3 – Moisturize – When used with olive oil and honey, lemon can help create a great moisturizing mask. If your skin is dry, mix together about 1 teaspoon of lemon, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Mix thoroughly and then apply it to any dry spots. Let it sit on skin for 10-15 minutes, allowing it to dry. Use warm water to wash away the mask.
Way #4 – Exfoliate – Take a lemon that is cut in half and then dip it into a bit of sugar. Rub the lemon with the sugar over your face, which will help to exfoliate your skin. Another option is to combine a bit of sugar, lemon juice and water, using the mixture on the face like an exfoliating scrub. Just make sure you don’t use this more than once each week.
Way #5 – Skin Toner – If you have oily skin, you can use lemon juice as a nice toner. To make a nice toner, you’ll need a teaspoon of witch hazel, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, a tablespoon of distilled water and 2 tablespoons of plain vodka. Mix together and then use cotton balls to apply the lemon toner to your skin. Use cool water to rinse it away. You can store excess in the fridge for about a week.
Way #6 – Nix Those Wrinkles – If you have a few wrinkles or fine lines, once again lemon juice can help you. To make a great mask to fight wrinkles, mix together one drop of sweet almond oil, several drops of fresh lemon juice and a teaspoon of pure, raw honey. Carefully apply to the face, letting it sit and dry for 15-20 minutes. Carefully wash off with warm water.
Way #7 – Soften and Brighten Skin – Last, you can also use lemon juice to help soften and brighten your skin. Simply apply it straight to skin, whether it is your face, legs or arms. It will soften skin and make skin appear brighter too.
