Our grandmothers used vag*nal douches for some different reasons. At that time, it was thought to be the right thing to do for cleanliness but was also a method of birth control. Today, we know differently.

In fact, most doctors recommend that you not douche, since it can disrupt the flora—the bacteria living in the vag*na—and even change the pH of the vag*na that can cause problems.

There’s a balance of harmful and good bacteria in a healthy vag*na. Douching changes that balance and can allow the harmful bacteria to overgrow, causing and infection in the inner reproductive organs.

It can also lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, which is a serious condition. It also can mask a serious condition by eliminating the odor.

Self Cleaning System
Today, less than 20 percent of women still douche, but there’s a better and healthier way to approach vag*nal odor, and that’s by ensuring the body has adequate nutrients and the right conditions to prevent problems. You can help boost the body’s own vag*nal self-cleaning system with what you drink.

The body’s cleaning system is a combination of the secretion of fluids that help remove the toxins, bacteria and dead skin cells from the area.

It has the perfect pH level for the vag*na to maintain a healthy area, which is between 3.8 and 4.5, slightly on the acidic level. That level of acidity helps keep bad bacteria at a minimum and prevent infection.

Things can Cause the pH Level of the Discharge to Change
Many things can cause the pH level of the vag*nal discharge to change. Some are sex, menstruation or even hormonal changes. To offset those changes and get back to the right pH, you can drink nutrient filled drinks that change it back to the right balance that kills bacteria.

Drinking these throughout the week not only will help you get the best results but will also add to your overall good health.

Drinking a combination of these beverages throughout the week, will get you optimum results.

① Cranberry Juice

Just like lemon juice and orange juice, cranberry juice is acidic and also high in vitamins. It improves the body’s overall health, which includes the vag*na. This acidic drink can help by providing the right acidic condition.

The vag*na is warm, closed-in and moist, which is the perfect place for infection to set up without the proper amount of acid to fight against it.

② Coconut Water

Coconut water contains lauric acid. That lauric acid is converted to another compound that helps fight infections. It also helps the body release build up toxins.

Coconut water is a well-known method of hydration and contains amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins C, B-complex and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron.

③ Lemon Juice Water

This acidic drink not only contains a high amount of vitamin C, already noted for being good for the vag*na because it increases lubrication which allows secretions to be released and also aids by maintaining the vag*nal pH level.

④ Apple Juice

Apple juice contains plant estrogens—phytoestrogens. These act in the body similar to the way estrogens act. They can help increase discharge production while also improving skin health, speed metabolism and give your sex drive a jump start.

⑤ Watermelon Juice

Watermelon juice contains citrulline, which is an amino acid that converts to arginine and plays a role in wound healing that may be affecting your pH levels. It causes the blood vessels to relax and improves blood circulation that aids in the healing qualities.

⑥ Orange Juice

If you’re looking for vitamin C, orange juice is one of the best ways to get it. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that also builds the immune system and can help eliminate bacteria that causes infection and improve the vag*nal cleansing mechanism.

⑦ Aloe Vera Juice

If you need a vag*nal lubricant, try aloe vera juice. Don’t put it in the vag*na, but drink it instead. It promotes the creation of vag*nal juices by encouraging the relaxation of the body.
