7 Beauty Tips Using Apple Cider Vinegar

Natural beauty – it is inexpensive and the results are much better than what commercially-produced cosmetics can deliver. Have you ever tested the beautifying powers of apple cider vinegar? Did you know that it can do miracles for your hair and your skin?

Organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar can improve circulation, regulate pH levels and deliver antiseptic benefits.

ACV-beauty-benefits

Here are some common options for using apple cider vinegar as a beauty product (or at least the ones I’ve tried and enjoyed through the years).

Be sure to get the good stuff. Choose an organic brand of raw apple cider vinegar for the most beauty benefits. Here’s how to use apple cider vinegar to get your hair and skin lookin’ good.

1. Rinse Your Hair
Apple cider vinegar is great for making your hair shiny and beautiful. Hair could lose some of its shine because of the accumulation of sebum or styling products.

The vinegar acts as a clarifying agent that will “clear” the locks from any residue and return their liveliness without stripping out the natural oils. It also works as a great detangler.

How To:
You simply need to dilute one part of apple cider vinegar in three parts of water. Adding 3 drops of rosemary essential oil to the mix will make it even more beneficial (promotes hair growth but this is optional).

Massage gently into the scalp and rinse your hair in a traditional way and follow up a conditioner. You will notice that your locks are very shiny and much easier to detangle after the procedure.

Apple cider vinegar is also an excellent dandruff remedy that will make the scalp a lot cleaner and healthier.

2. Get Your Manicure to Last Longer
I have been using apple cider vinegar on my nails for years. The process is very simple.

How To:
Pour some apple cider vinegar in a small bowl and dip your nails in it for about 1 minute (or simply dip/soak a cotton ball into ACV and rub it on your nails).

Allow the apple cider vinegar to dry and use your traditional manicure products and nail polish. I would suggest doing this step after applying your cuticle cream/oil and before buffing/smoothing your nails.

Apple cider vinegar will remove some of the oil that is traditionally found on your nails’surface.

As a result, the polish will have a better chance of adhering, and it will stay on for a longer period of time. This method yields about 1-2 days longer of polished, un-chipped tips.

3. Facial Toner
Apple cider vinegar can balance the pH of your skin, which is great for toning purposes. It will promote clarity of complexion, diminish discoloration and age spots and help to clear away pimples. It is very easy to use and it is suitable for everyday face toning.

How To:
You simply need to dilute two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a 1 cup of water and place the mixture in a spray bottle. Use a cotton pad to apply the toner on your skin.

Allow your face to be dry before using your face cream or another kind of moisturizer. Leaving the apple cider vinegar on will lock a lot of moisture inside and make your skin glowingly healthy.

4. Get Rid of Acne
Are you an acne sufferer? If so, you have probably tried dozens of remedies in vain. Give apple cider vinegar a try and I promise that you won’t be disappointed.

How To:
To get rid of pimples and inflammation, mix some apple cider vinegar with honey and wheat flour. Adjust the amount to get a relatively thick paste.

Apply the mixture to the affected area and leave it on overnight and rinse it off the next day. The antiseptic qualities of honey and apple cider vinegar will work together to diminish the prominence of the acne breakout.

5. Bathe in It
Consider bathing in apple cider vinegar to make your skin softer and to improve the pH balance of your body.

How To:
You simply need to dilute 2 cupfuls of apple cider in your bath water. Once again, you can add a few drops of essential oil to detoxify your organism and make your skin toned, pH balanced and smoother.

6. Create a Natural Mouthwash
The anti-septic qualities of apple cider vinegar make it great for dealing with the harmful bacteria in the mouth. To improve oral hygiene and to stop purchasing commercial mouthwash, you should try switching to apple cider vinegar.

How To:
Dilute 1 tbsp of ACV with water and swish it around to break down plaque and bacteria that cause bad breath. ACV will also remove stains from teeth by diluting with water and rubbing it directly to the teeth followed by a water rinse.

7. Dink it Up
Drinking unfiltered apple cider vinegar is one of the best options for feeling more beautiful and healthier. Apple cider vinegar can be used to detoxify the organism, speed up metabolism (and thus lose weight), maintain alkaline pH and overcome digestive issues. Apple cider vinegar drinks are also great for people prone to allergic reactions.

How To:
Adding 1-2 tablespoons to 6oz of water and drinking this 2-3 times a day can help to speed up metabolism, break down fat, fight fatigue, soothe heartburn, and maintain alkaline pH which increases energy levels and lowers risks of infections. To increase the benefits of the apple cider drink even further, you should consider adding a teaspoon of raw honey to it.

These are just some of the amazing apple cider vinegar uses. It is delicious and great for making salad dressings. It is also incredibly beneficial when applied topically.

Whether you want more beautiful hair or you are interested in a whole detox routine, apple cider vinegar will deliver.

Make sure that the apple cider vinegar you use is raw, unfiltered and has a “mother” of the vinegar. The ‘mother’ is made up of strand-like enzymes of connected protein molecules with living nutrients and bacteria. Filtering removes all of the important enzymes, bacteria, and nutrients that deliver the incredible health and beauty benefits.

My favorite brand is Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (You can check my post here on how to create your own ACV from scratch, in case ACV is not available in your area).

Be sure to dilute ACV before applying it to your skin or drinking. It is very acidic and can damage the tooth enamel and the tissues of your throat, mouth or skin.

      @Ligaya Alvarez,
      If the ACV is diluted and used as a toner, you can leave it overnight. That’s what I normally do after my toner application.

    You may get brags at Walmart and G NC. I started drinking it about a week ago and I can tell a difference in my regularity as well. A big difference in my acid reflux So I’m trying for my hair next. Good luck

      @Ayaan,
      The Brag’s brand is the most effective one instead of using some other brands which is a waste of time and money. Otherwise, you can create your own from scratch if you have time:

      @Ayaan Waqar,
      The term “mother” on the ACV is called the enzymes present on the bottle, they look similar to a web-like that stay at the bottom of the container.

      The best recommended brand is the “BRAGGS” with the mother. You can order it online

      If it doesnt show raw, unfiltered ACV, its not effective.

    Hello! What a great blog! I would very much like to try number 7, but I can not get hold of raw apple cider vinegar where I live. I live in a small town in Norway, so then I have to order it over the internet, and then it becomes very expensive. But I wondered if I could use this (I add the link) http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Omega-Nutrition-Apple-Cider-Vinegar-with-Mother-12-fl-oz-355-ml/27602#p=1&oos=1&disc=0&lc=en-US&w=apple%20cider%20vinegar&rc=187&sr=null&ic=20
    Do you think it’s fine for that purpose?

    Hope you have a great day!

      @RisRosOgKlaging,
      The ACV you’ve mentioned is fine because it has a “Mother” on it, it means that enzymes are present on the ACV which is vital for its effectiveness.
