Every woman wants her skin to look young, gorgeous and healthy. After all, if you have wrinkles, dark circles or acne, it’s tough to look like the beautiful, famous Snow Queen. A few years ago, I stumbled across the Snow Queen’s big beauty secret – an ice cube.

It might not sound like a lot, but you’ll be amazed at what a bit of frozen water can do for your complexion. Ekaterina II, a former queen of Russia, regularly used ice cubes on her décolletage, her face, and neck. Doing so refreshed her skin and kept her skin looking luminous and young.

Ice cubes offer many benefits. They can help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, control oil, reduce the signs of aging and even minimize your pores. Start using ice cubes regularly and you’ll end up with fresh, healthy, glowing skin. Your skin will look incredible, even when you’re not wearing makeup.

Here are some excellent DIY beauty uses for ice cubes. Use a couple of them or use them all for younger, more beautiful skin.

Tip: To prepare ice cubes I recommend using mineral water, instead of simple tap water.

① Green Tea Puffy Eye Cubes

Green tea is wonderful for your skin, and since it contains plenty of caffeine and antioxidants, it is wonderful for your eyes. Some people use green tea teabags on their eyes, but this delightful green tea ice works even better.

How To Do It:
Make them by brewing one cup of green tea. Pour the tea into an ice cube tray. For puffy eyes or dark under eye circles, gently apply cubes to your eyes. The green tea ice cubes will help eliminate extra fluid, eliminating puffy eyes.

② Cucumber + Honey Cube Cleanser

Go frozen with your next cleanser. You can make your own honey and cucumber ice cube cleansers. The honey gently moisturizes and the cucumbers cleanse and moisturize skin too.

How To Do It:
* Make your cleansing ice cubes by pureeing a medium cucumber in a food processor. Add a bit of fresh lemon juice and some honey. Mix well and then pour into ice cube trays. Freeze the cubes.

* When you’re ready to use a cube, allow it to sit for about 25-30 seconds. This lets it start softening so it’s a bit slushy. Rub the softened cube on the neck and face, using the slushy bit to help exfoliate your skin.

* Let the mixture sit on skin for 5-10 minutes and then gently rinse away.

③ Instant Ice Water Facial

cold-water-1

Recently, I read about a woman who regularly uses ice water to keep her skin looking beautiful. Simply dunk your entire face in some ice water, or pat on your face, for great results.

The ice water tightens pores and improves circulation to the face, which gives you a fast facial. It will help you wake up in the morning too.

④ Shrink a Pimple

How To Do It:
If you end up dealing with a breakout, let ice come to the rescue. Place an ice cube in a small plastic sandwich bag (not directly to the skin). Then, apply to the skin for 5-7 minutes. It will reduce the pain, inflammation, and redness.

⑤ Numbing Ice Cube to Prevent Tweezing Discomfort

Tweezing your eyebrows can be painful, but you can use an ice cube to numb the area. Before you start tweezing, rub the area with an ice cube. Do this during tweezing if the pain becomes bothersome.

When you’re done, rub an ice cube over the area again to help reduce any swelling or redness.

⑥ Aloe Vera Sun Soother Cubes
Aloe vera is wonderful for a sunburn, and it feels even better frozen.

How To Do It:
Take aloe vera gel and pour into ice cube trays. Freeze the gel. Next time you end up with a sunburn, rub skin with the aloe vera ice cubes for fast relief.

⑦ Lavender Ice Face Massage

Facial massages feel amazing, and you can easily do your own at home with some ice and lavender oil. Not only does it feel so relaxing, but you feel like you’re pampering yourself too.

How To Do It:
Take a washcloth and wrap up several ice cubes in the cloth. Add 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil to the cloth and then use the cloth and ice to give your neck and face a facial massage for several minutes.

Try this before you head to bed. The ice and the massaging motion will improve circulation to the skin and will help to reduce fine lines. Of course, the lavender oil smells amazing and it will relax you.
