One of the best parts of natural skincare is how easy it is to simply head to the kitchen for a few natural ingredients. In no time, you can make a fabulous beauty product.

If you end up dealing with blotchy skin, red lackluster skin or other skin problems, yogurt is the perfect solution. You can use yogurt to whip up a delightful mask that will hydrate skin, slough away dead skin cells, tighten your pores and so much more.

yogurt-beauty-uses-1

Yogurt is a fabulous ingredient and works well for many beauty problems. The naturally occurring zinc and lactic acid did the rest – removing dead skin cells, smoothing out fine lines, tightening the pores, hydrating away dry patches and giving my skin a much-needed glow.

Here are some of the top yogurt beauty benefits and instructions on how to make your own yogurt beauty products.

Benefit #1 – Moisturizes Skin

If your skin is dry and it needs some extra moisture, yogurt is the perfect choice. Make sure you have natural, plain yogurt with no added sugar.

Simply apply a thick layer of the plain yogurt to your skin like a mask. Allow to stay on skin for about 10 minutes and then gently rinse away with warm water.

The lactic acid in yogurt will help to exfoliate, smooth and add moisture to your skin.

Benefit #2 – Eliminates Dandruff

Yogurt also helps eliminate dandruff. If you’re dealing with a flaky scalp, try yogurt.

Take some plain yogurt and massage into the scalp just like you would shampoo.

Leave on your scalp for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Once again, the lactic acid is the key to great results.

It helps to slough away dead skin cells on the scalps and provides moisture to your scalp, eliminating your dandruff problem.

Benefit #3 – Treats Acne

Acne can be treated by plain yogurt too. Use plain, organic yogurt as a mask, slathering all over your face. Leave for 30 minutes and then gently rinse it away with some cool water.

Since yogurt has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, it helps to eliminate the bacteria that cause acne. It also offers a deep cleanse, so you’re sure to see improvement when you use yogurt to treat acne.

Benefit #4 – Reduces Discolorations

You can also reduce discolorations by using some yogurt. The lactic acid helps to bleach away dark spots on your skin.

Simply combine a couple drops of fresh lemon juice with two tablespoons of plain yogurt.

Mix well and then apply to clean skin. Allow to stay on skin for about 30 minutes, rinsing it away with tepid water.

To effectively eliminate dark spots, use this mask a couple times each week.

Benefit #5 – Soothes Sunburn

Last, yogurt is perfect for soothing sunburnt skin. After a sunburn, mix together several drops of chamomile essential oil with some plain yogurt.

Apply gently to skin and let the yogurt sit on skin for 15 minutes, which allows it to have time to sooth and nourish skin.

Yogurt has zinc in it, which helps sooth your sunburn and the drops of chamomile essential oil will help relieve the burn on the surface.

Yogurt is the perfect beauty ingredient to keep in the kitchen. Try these great beauty ideas to solve your beauty problems.

      @Angie,
If you are using the yogurt alone on your face, you can apply make this routine daily. Or you can alternate different facial mask as well. For exfoliating mask, just use it 2x a week.
