Very few people are happy with the appearance of their abs. Most of us have some fat in the area that stands in the way of enjoying the perfect silhouette. A couple of bad habits contribute to the accumulation of belly fat and to bloating.
Reducing the size of your belly is all about breaking these bad habits and decreasing the risk of experiencing bloating. Here’s how.
① Stop Eating Too Fast
Are you used to grabbing a quick bite on the go and finishing your lunch in less than five minutes? Eating too fast means you’re swallowing a lot of air. As a result, you’ll be experiencing some bloating.
The trapped air will also contribute to slower digestion and burden of the gastrointestinal tract. People that eat fast may also consume too much food in a rush.
The solution? Take your time and enjoy each meal. You’ll notice the changes almost immediately.
② Kick Soda to the Curb
So many people forget about liquid calories and all of the problems associated to the consumption of soda.
Traditional sodas contain a lot of sugar, and the diet alternatives are even worse. They’ll make you feel bloated, and they’ll also contribute to a serious calorie intake.
The solution? You have dozens of other beverage possibilities to pick among. Water is obviously the best pick but you can also go for freshly made fruit/veggie juices or smoothies.
③ Get Rid of Packaged Foods
Many packaged (and delicious) goodies contain large quantities of sodium. It’s not good for your health and it certainly isn’t good for the shape of your belly.
Chips, instant soups, and salad dressings are all full of sodium. You cannot taste the salt, but it’s there – can you see how tricky packaged foods are?
Instead of opting for yet another bag of chips, make snacks at home. A salad or a dozen of raw nuts will make you feel full and will also keep your belly flat.
The solution? Cut back on processed stuff and go natural. Fresh fruits, grains, and veggies are naturally low-sodium or sodium-free.
④ No Meal before Going to Bed
Get in the habit of consuming your final meal for the day at least a couple of hours before going to bed. By eating late, you give your body extra calories that it cannot burn while sleeping. In addition, digesting food while in bed is a difficult process. You’ll probably feel bloated and unhappy the next morning.
Lying down hinders your body’s ability to break down food fast. It makes sense since sleeping takes lesser energy than activities you do when you are awake.
The solution? Eat at least three to four hours before you sleep, if you feel very hungry before going to bed, you can opt for plain yogurt or a piece of fruit.
Gradually, you’ll get used to eating the final meal for the day earlier.
⑤ It’s just a small food allergy is part of your excuse
Food allergies aren’t innocent. They can contribute to serious problems, which is why you cannot just ignore the issue.
Individuals that suffer from food allergies or lactose intolerance will be incapable of digesting a particular product or type of food. They’ll feel bloated, and they’ll also experience a range of other side effects.
Belly expansion is a very common consequence of food allergies or intolerances.
The solution? Talk to your physician about the problems you’re experiencing – these could be bloating, discomfort, diarrhea or constipation.
Testing yourself for a particular food allergies or intolerance will give you a good idea about the products to avoid.
A flat belly is not all about working out and burning that fat. You’ll simply need to incorporate a couple of necessary changes in your daily routine.
Opting for healthier foods, knowing when to consume your meals and how to enjoy your food will all have an impact on your body.
