I never thought that any facial could ever make me glad that a little of it got into my mouth, but these amazing facials do. They contain all of my favorite things, and I find myself wanting to lick the last little bit I didn’t use out of the container for a tasty treat.
You’ll probably feel the same way yourself when you hear all the yummy ingredients in the three recipes that will give you beautiful skin and taste amazing too. There’s nothing better than honey and lemon mixed with Greek yogurt unless it’s pineapple in coconut milk.
Here are three of my faves facial mixes and hey, if there are some leftover ingredients, maybe you can make a snack!
① Hydrate Your Skin While Removing Puffiness and Redness with This Pineapple and Coconut Milk Facial
This is perfect for restoring hydration and remedying dry or flaky skin, so if you have a fresh pineapple, you’ll want to save out four slices to make this dreamy facial that leaves your skin feeling and looking more refreshed. The pineapple is great for inflammation anywhere in or on the body and can help reduce that redness and puffiness while the coconut milk hydrates your skin.
- 4 slices fresh pineapple
- 2 tablespoons coconut milk
① Just combine four slices of pineapple with two tablespoons of coconut milk and puree it in a blender until it’s a thick paste.
② Apply the paste to your face evenly and allow to set for ten minutes. Wipe it off with a damp cloth, and you can feel how moisturized and refreshed your skin is.
② Start by Exfoliating and Tightening Your Skin with a Combo of Greek Yogurt, Honey and Lemon
If you’ve ever combined honey and lemon to create a throat soother during a cold, you’ll appreciate the soothing effect it has on your skin when mixed with Greek yogurt.
Greek yogurt helps kill bacteria because it contains probiotics, friendly bacteria, that fights to keep your skin healthy. It also contains lactic acid to shrink the pores, making your skin look years younger.
The slightly acidic lemon juice removes dead skin, while the honey is a natural antibacterial that moisturizes and helps unclog the pores.
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
- Juice of one lemon
- 1 tablespoon honey
① Just mix the juice of a lemon, two tablespoons of Greek yogurt and one tablespoon of honey, and you’re ready to apply it to your freshly cleansed neck and face.
② Take a 30 to 40-minute time-out to pamper yourself in other ways, such as sipping warm herbal tea or a tall glass of your favorite healthy beverage. You’ll know when it’s time to rinse because your skin will feel tighter.
③ It may take as long as an hour, depending on many different factors. First, rinse with warm water and then with cold.
③ Combine Leftover Pulp with Honey to Brighten your Skin
If you have a juicer, there’s no need to throw out the pulp left in it after you juice beets, carrots or sweet potatoes. Combine those with honey to create a mask that will give your skin a boost.
While it has astringent properties, it won’t dry out your skin but simply draw out impurities. The honey helps to maintain and attract moisture. Orange and red-pigmented produce have natural antiseptic properties with skin-brightening effects.
- 1/2 cup carrot pulp (or other red or orange-pigmented pulp, such as sweet potato and beet)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
① In a small bowl, combine the carrot pulp and honey until nice paste forms.
② Apply to your clean skin and allow it to stay on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Pat dry.
