Rescue Damaged Hair with These 3 Chemical Free Home Remedies

Taking care of your hair is important, and it’s also important to choose hair products with care, just as you do when purchasing skincare products. Many hair products contain plenty of chemicals and harmful ingredients, so it’s often difficult to find a good hair product.

HAIR-DAMAGED-1

Are you looking for a rescue treatment to treat hair that has been damaged from heat, coloring, or bleaching? If so, head to the kitchen. You’ll find some great ingredients that can offer great hair care results.

Not only are natural home remedies cheap, but they are extremely efficient, and they don’t include harmful chemicals in them.

Here’s a look at three natural home remedies you can make at home to rescue damaged hair.

These DIY treatments might be cheap, but they are more effective than most products out there and the bonus is that they are free from harmful chemicals.

① Natural Hair Protein – Egg Hair Treatment
Eggs are well known for being a great protein source when you eat them, and all the rich protein can benefit your hair topically as well. If your hair is damaged, particularly due to bleaching, hair becomes more porous, which means it can be more easily damaged.

To reduce this problem, you need to add protein back to your hair and egg whites are the perfect option.

What to do:
Take two egg whites, mix them in a bowl, and then apply them to damp, freshly shampooed hair. Wrap hair in plastic wrap or a warm towel, leaving the egg treatment on hair for around 30 minutes.

Rinse the eggs out of your hair with cool water. Use this treatment regularly (2 or 3x a week) for healthier, thicker, more beautiful hair.

② Regrow Hair Naturally – Coconut Oil Hair Treatment
Another great natural home remedy for damaged hair is coconut oil. Unlike many other types of hair treatments, your hair will fully absorb the coconut oil into your hair follicles.

This ensures that hair gets all the great benefits of coconut oil, especially those that come from the lauric acid found in the oil. Lauric acid helps to protect hair and bind proteins to your hair.

What to do:
To treat your hair with coconut oil, start the treatment on the evening before you plan to wash your hair. Apply coconut oil directly to hair and let it stay on hair overnight.

You may want to wrap hair in a plastic bag or a towel to avoid transferring the oil to your sheets and pillow. In the morning, shampoo your hair to remove the oil. Start using this treatment regularly, and you’ll enjoy longer, stronger, healthier hair.

③ Dry Brittle Hair – Olive Oil and Honey Hair Treatment
If you bleach your hair, color your hair or regular use heat on your hair, you probably know that hydration is critical. Heat, bleaching, and coloring all stress your hair and can dry out your tresses.

When hair is dry, it is more likely to break and be damaged. The good news is that you can make your own hair treatment to moisturize your hair.

What to do:
To make this treatment, warm a half cup of olive oil for about 30 seconds in your microwave (I prefer to use a double broiler when heating the oil).

Once the oil is warm, add a tablespoon of honey and mix well. Massage the mixture through hair, coating hair from root to tip. Leave on your hair for a minimum of 30 minutes or longer if possible.

Rinse the mixture out of your hair and shampoo. While the honey feels extremely sticky, it does wash out without a problem, and it will leave hair with a beautiful shine.

You can rescue damaged hair the natural way with any of these great natural treatments. You can whip up treatment in minutes, and you don’t need to worry about chemicals that will damage hair further.
