① Sugaring Hair Removal Recipe
Using sugar for waxing purposes is an old-school technique known for the excellent results that it delivers. The benefits of sugaring are numerous – it’s cheap, it can be used on any body part and it is 100 percent chemical free.
Ingredients Needed are:
1 cup of regular granulated sugar
juice of ½ lemon
¼ cup of honey
a drizzle of molasses (optional)
How to make sugaring paste for hair removal:
- Pour the sugar in a microwave-safe bowl and add the lemon juice to it. Add the honey and stir well.
Put the bowl in your microwave and heat for approximately two minutes.
If you decide to heat the mixture using a double boiler, you’ll need to use a thermometer and make sure that the temperature reaches 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the mixture cool down a bit before using it on your skin. Sprinkle a bit of cornstarch on the area you want to treat.
Apply a bit of the sugar hair removal mix using a spatula or popsicle stick and spread the mixture over your skin in the direction of hair growth.
Put a cotton strip or another piece of fabric over it and press down firmly. Rip the strip off in the direction opposite to hair growth.
Sugar Waxing Tips
Keep in mind that the sugar mix will not work well on the excessively short hair, the hair should be 1/4 inch long. If too short, you won’t be able to pull them out.
Don’t worry if you’ve made too much of the sugar mix. It can be stored in the fridge and used later on. You’ll simply have to heat it once again in the microwave or use the double broiler to melt the mixture.
② Milk and Turmeric Hair Removal
This milk and turmeric treatment is great for facial hair removal and the recipe has been used by Indian women for centuries. The recipe is even suitable for the removal of the finest and tiniest of hairs such as hair on the upper lip.
Ingredients Needed are:
¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder (available cheaply in most Asian grocery stores)
1/2 cup of chickpea flour
a few drops of milk or cream.
How to make turmeric paste for hair removal:
- Simply mix turmeric powder, chickpea flour and milk in a small bowl until you get a smooth thick paste.
- Apply a very thin layer of the paste to the area with unwanted hair. Scrub the paste gently in circular motion using your fingers and let it dry completely.
You’ll need approximately 20 minutes, during which you can relax and read a favorite book or a magazine.

③ Egg White and Sugar Hair Removal
