Most people love a tall glass of cold water, but hot or warm water rarely sounds like a good idea. Sometimes you may drink hot water when you have a fever or a cold, but you probably prefer drinking your water nice and cold.

However, drinking hot water regularly offers many benefits, from eliminating toxins to helping you lose weights. In fact, Ayurvedic medicine uses warm water for its therapeutic, healing benefits.

Hot-water-1
You may not be aware that drinking hot water has some great benefits that cold water doesn’t offer. Here are just a few of the unexpected benefits of drinking hot or warm water regularly.

① Reduces Throat and Nasal Congestion

If you have a cold, sore throat or a cough, try drinking some hot water. It offers an excellent natural remedy for throat and nasal congestion, helping to dissolve and remove phlegm. This makes it a fantastic option if you’re dealing with congestion or you, have a sore throat from phlegm in the throat.

② Aids in Weight Loss

Another exciting benefit of drinking hot water is its ability to aid in weight loss. It helps you keep your metabolism healthy, which is important when you’re trying to lose a few pounds.

For weight loss, start drinking a glass of hot water with lemon each morning when you get up. It will give your metabolism a boost and keep it going throughout the day. The hot water also helps to break down fat tissue within the body, making it easier for you to lose weight.

③ Detoxifies the Body

Hot water helps to detoxify the body as well. Drinking hot water can make your body temperature rise. This makes you start sweating. When you sweat, the body can release unhealthy toxins, cleansing away those toxins. Adding a bit of fresh lemon juice to your water will increase your results.

④ Relieves Menstrual Cramps

If you deal with menstrual cramps, hot water can help. When you drink the warm water, it contributes to soothe and calm the muscles in the abdomen, reducing painful spasms and cramps. Next time you deal with menstrual cramps, try downing a glass of hot water.

⑤ Acne Prevention

Drinking hot water offers quite a few skin benefits. Since the hot water helps to flush away toxins, it cleanses the skin, which contributes to eliminating and prevent acne. Many acne problems are a result of toxins in the body, so hot water helps to remove those toxins, preventing further acne breakouts.

⑥ Prevents the Signs of Aging

Toxins lead to premature aging, which is another important reason to detoxify the body. Hot water eliminates the toxins that cause aging. When you drink hot water, you’ll make it easier for skin cells to repair themselves, increasing skin elasticity. This results in smoother, younger looking skin.

⑦ Increases Hair Growth

When you drink hot water, it helps to activate your hair’s roots, which increases hair growth. Root activity is promoted by hot water, which will contribute to making hair grow faster.

⑧ Reduces Problems with Dandruff

Since drinking hot water hydrates skin, it also ensures your scalp is hydrated. This helps to reduce problems with dandruff or scalp dryness.

⑨ Keeps Hair Shiny and Soft

Hot water also contributes to keeping hair shiny and soft. When you drink the hot water, it helps to activate and energize the nerve endings found in the roots of your hair. This contributes to improving overall hair health.

⑩ Easier Bowel Movements

If you’re having problems with constipation, drinking hot water may help. When you drink it, it helps to ensure that bowel movements are easy, pain-free and healthy. It also ensures that you have regular bowel movements.

Constipation is often caused by dehydration, and as more stool accumulates within the intestines, the bowels move slower and slower. Drinking a glass of warm water each morning before you eat anything else helps to ensure you enjoy easier, healthy bowel movements.

⑪ Increases Circulation and Keeps the Nervous System Health

Drinking hot water also helps to increase circulation throughout the body, which is essential for healthy nerve and muscle activity. It also contributes to breaking down fat deposits around the nervous system, keeping it healthy.

⑫ Aids in Digestion

Many people drink hot water for improved digestion. Surprisingly, studies show that drinking cold water after or during your meal can result in hardened oils.

This may lead to fat deposits inside your intestines, which could turn into intestinal cancer. When you drink hot water, this problem doesn’t occur, and you improve overall digestion.
