Sometimes the things you do not see can be every bit as harmful as visible ones, and I cannot possibly think of a better example than a dark neck. Imagine how much effort and time a woman puts into enhancing her looks, and it should be easy to realize how frustrated one would feel knowing that the dark skin on her neck overshadows most of her work.

The fact that you cannot see the effects does not mean that others cannot either, and this tiny detail can affect your self-confidence and spoil even the best look. I cannot overstate the importance of preventing the dark neck or alleviate the effects if it is already there.

The fact that it has a scientific name such as “acanthosis nigricans” so it can be to some extent regarded as a medical condition does not help too much. The good news is that some of the causes can be addressed with ease, and the simplest remedy is to properly scrub the area around the neck.

When we shower we tend to ignore this part of our body and over time, the skin gets a darker hue that becomes visible to pretty much anyone who interacts with us. Hyperpigmentation only makes matters worse, so if you know that you suffer from this condition, pay extra attention to this issue to get rid of the dark neck.

Causes:

  • Sunburn
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Pregnancy
  • Hereditary
  • Consuming birth control pills
