It feels awkward if your hair looks greasy and oily though you have just washed it yesterday as others may think that you haven’t bathe for days. This is one problem that most likely people try dealing it at some point for different reasons and been a common complaint among people who suffers from acne.
The main cause of this is actually the over active amount of sebaceous glands that produce excessive oil as well as accumulation of pollution and dust that make hair look dull, lifeless and wilted. These glands secrete sebum which is a combination of fatty acids to help protect your scalp. Other factors that cause this problem are down to a bad diet and stress too.
Oily hair doesn’t have to turn your day into a bad hair day because it can be prevented and controlled by following these methods.
Oily hair and scalps need frequent washing therefore you need to choose a shampoo which is high in lauryl sulfate or sulfosuccinate which is commonly used in detergents to help you combat oily hair.

So try to invest for a shampoo intended for your oily hair or greasy scalp problem and shampoo your hair on daily basis. You can try an anti-dandruff shampoo though you don’t have dandruff as it contains coal tar that can dry out even the oiliest hair. During humid, hot weather it is advisable to wash your hair twice, take time in shampooing your hair and let it sit for couple of minutes to remove oil properly and rinse it thoroughly. Remember not to use conditioner as this will put back the oil that you’ve just washed off.
Also, you can try using strong Rosemary tea instead of rinsing your hair with water as this herb contains oil that helps control your scalp from producing excessive oil. Just make a mixture of 2 tbsp of dried rosemary to a cup of boiling water, let it sit for 30 minutes and strain the water into container allowing it to cool down. Use this mixture for your final hair rinse and dry your hair as usual.
Whatsoever the cause that makes your hair greasy, it is essential to take care of your hair and practice proper hygiene.
