DIY Homemade Makeup Remover that Stimulates Eyelashes to Grow

That fantastic new mascara that has your eyes looking dazzling during the day and evening can cause damage to the lashes while you sleep. Not only will mascara cause your lashes to be more brittle when it builds, but it also can cake at the base of the lash and not allow the skin and lash root to breathe.

That spells damage! You can buy your eye makeup remover at a store, but here’s one you can make at home, which also helps your lashes to grow! That’s a second reason to remove makeup. Not only are you preventing damage, but you’re also encouraging long luscious lashes in the process.

What are These Miracle Ingredients?
Are they exotic oils from the rain forest or expensive magical oils? Absolutely not, the magical elixir is made from ingredients you may already have in your home or can purchase easily at the grocery or pharmacy.

These two ingredients are olive oil and castor oil make the perfect natural dissolvent for any difficult-to-remove makeup, including false lashes and their eyelash glue.

Both of these have been used for years for lovely lashes. In fact, you’ll often find references to olive oil for beauty in Roman texts, and it is noted that Cleopatra probably used it too.

Olive oil is a fantastic makeup remover that won’t dry the eye area either. In fact, it’s so good, and it can remove the toughest caked on, dried out mascara without causing any lash damage.

It won’t dry out the delicate skin around the eyes but instead nourishes it to help prevent wrinkles. It’s also high in the antioxidants vitamin A and E, Omega 3 and six fatty acids and has anti-inflammatory properties. It nourishes the skin around the eyelash and helps nourish the lashes, too.

Castor oil is also a folk remedy for growing longer lashes. Castor oil is excellent for moisturizing present lashes and stimulating growth. It’s also good to help your hair grow too.

It contains many nutrients that soak into the skin and work from the inside to feed and nourish the hair follicle. It’s also anti-inflammatory. Unlike prescription drugs for longer lashes, there are no side effects.

The Result:
Within weeks, when you combine this dynamic duo, you’ll start to notice a huge difference in the length and thickness of your eyelashes. With continued application, you will see a result in thicker lashes, and the olive oil conditions lashes and prevent breakage.

You Will Need:

  • Olive oil
  • Castor oil (Jamaican Black Castor Oil is recommended if available, you can find this at amazon.com)

How to Do It:

  • Mix 1 tbsp castor oil and 1 tbsp olive oil in a small container.
  • ( *This is optional* ) Pop the mixture in the microwave for 10 – 12 seconds or until the mixture is warm before application (note: use a micro-safe bowl)
  • ** The warmth of the mixture will allow the makeup to melt away even easier, and the heat upon the lash line will stimulate the hair follicles and further encourage eyelash growth.

  • Dip a cotton pad in the mixture or you can use your two fingers and slick over the closed eye in a downward motion.
  • ** Be careful not to rub your fingers in a circular motion as this can stress the eyelashes.

  • Waterproof or not, you’ll instantly notice your makeup melts right off
  • Using a a damp paper towel or tissue paper, wipe off the residual makeup gently until your eye is completely makeup-free.
